The fact that no one said a thing actually makes him more likely to be town in my mind. If someone had investigated him and got a scum result, they probably would have said something. But I doubt somebody would blow their cover early game and become a scum target by claiming cop to verify one townie.

show: metagaming

So logic dictates that we should wait another night for a cop to to investigate him if for whatever reason he couldn't do it the previous night, else enjoy the benefits of having a claimed investigative role (and certainly do NOT lynch him).

Argh, something has been bugging me rereading again. Watcher is not something scum can fake easily, with the notable exception of being a mafia watcher. There's no way to fake a visiting result except being randomly lucky. But, if there's a mafia watcher, in a NV game, it would be very likely that a watcher is present in the town also... I'd say it's even more likely when there's already a tracker dead, these roles being so often used together. Which makes me think Colton not being counterclaimed proves in itself that he's not faking. But... Just to make sure: is anyone else a watcher? (obviously if Safari says he is, there's no believing him :P)

Who said I'm squirming? I've said that I think colton is scum. If anything, I'm consistent in my accusation.

In terms of metagaming, colton has always been an active poster in the other games he's played. The fact that he is really being quiet in this game tells me that he's trying really hard to drop a scumtell. His defense of "not saying something stupid" basically tells me that he is trying especially hard not to give away tells. It's just out of character for him to not post more, and I'm suspicious of that.

Granted, he could be a town investigative role and trying to not get figured out by the scum, but I really thought that investigation of serbia was very odd. Call me scummy, but that investigation with claim and overall quietness of colton makes me very suspicious of his claim and role. I strongly suggest he investigate a more suspicious person this time around (me included).

Point is, you basically want to lynch him on the off chance he's scum and if he's not, brush it off as "oh well no big loss he wouldn't have use it well". That sounds incredibly scummy. We weren't even lynching NES in the old days when he was fakeclaiming doc. Well, until the real doc showed up at least.
I think it'd be a bit harsh on town to not have a cop also in a cultish context, but with our tracker dead already the watcher is a freakingly important role.
Now the problem will be to manage to make sure you're scum and get you lynched under 20 hours.

Safari I want to punch you in the face right now. You want to kill of the watcher just because I watched somebody that you didn't want me to watch. All I get are the people who visited the person I watched and that is it.

This statement floors me, and I mean really floors me. The only time I could see this working was if the scum was desperate enough to have no other choice but to agree with the investigation. I say this because colton was still a prime suspect as of last night. Serbia couldn't have been sure that colton was going to live through day two or that he didn't get investigated last night. If colton had been turned up scum/dead scum, then everyone and their grandma in this game would have taken Serbia out to a nice dark ally and ended his lies. I just don't see a long time vet of this game agreeing with a newer player, who not only was questioned, but claimed day one as well. It's a huge/pointless risk to make at the start of a game when town obviously still outnumber scum. So ya safari, that's got to be one of the weakest arguments I've heard in awhile. Granted. if there are 5 players left in the game and everyone is suspicious, then I could see that move working. But not so early, that's just a huge risk to both players. Sorry, that little "theory" just convinced me not to trust you.

Also there seems to a secret voter around, so perhaps we should treat the current situation as lynch-1 just in case?

Well Ok, I am a Paranoid CCTV person.
Each night, my camera will record anyone who visits me. The next night, I get to review the tape. If I die, the town gets to see who visited me. Therefore, I suggest you all keep me alive. If I were to die tonight, you'll get the information on who it was who killed me. Also, anyone who visited me night 1 would also be revealed.

Well, there are a couple of problems with that.

1. I'll admit, it sounds plausible, considering the number of cheesy POV horror movies these days (Quarantine, etc.) but it's almost too plausible and even OP. Knowing who killed you is a 1:1 trade, which as Aimless would say (going waaaay back here) "is always a good trade". So if you're telling the truth, we should let you die tonight. Or you'll end up just sitting around the whole game doing nothing. Either way, I'm pretty sure you're scum now based on your actions, so that doesn't matter. Throw in the fact that you're a PARANOID CCTV person, and that's just icing on the cake.

2. We're not gonna carry out your little revenge scheme, mainly because as I just pointed out, he has good reason to doubt you. He's also got probably the best reputation as a scum, making a move like that out of character for him and just plain stupid. That, or stupid like a fox, but probably not.

Yes. Last Koesen game I played, I got a fake claim. I wouldn't be surprised if they cropped up here.

Untrue. Since my camera records who visits me, should I be night killed, the town would see who it was who killed me (since they visited me). Also, the more nights I stay alive, the more likely it is that whoever the zombie recruiter is will recruit me. Then, when the day vig kills me, you'll get to see that too. Bottom line, I'm more useful the longer I stay alive.

Since metagaming is such a big deal, why don't you all metagame me? You know how I play, aggressive and active. Excuse me for trying to find leads. I find it funny that the bandwagon isn't even near L-1 on f1fth and everyone jumps on me for being a bandwagoner blah blah blah. What exactly was I supposed to add to the discussion there. I was simply stating what my suspicions are. Just because someone claims a certain role doesn't mean they are. I still believe that that Serbia investigation was not the best target. Could be colton being colton, could have been something else.

In regards to 1. The paranoid is a flavor text. You'd have to be pretty paranoid to set up surveillance cameras to look at your own house no?

First off, I'm saying we should let you die, so we can see who killed you. But scum won't go for that, they'll just let you sit there while no one visits you because anyone who visits you now knows they'll get seen, and that defeats the point of anyone visiting you at all.

Secondly, would you mind sharing who, if anyone, visited you night 1 (something you should have done in the first place, which is part of why I don't believe you.)

No, you put a vote behind an admitted half-assed attempt at an argument with a half-assed justification, then rebutted a reply with a half-assed response. That's not "finding leads".

Again, no. I noticed all this half-assedness and pointed it out. People noticed. They weren't half-assed about it. In fact, nobody said bandwagon until you brought it up. Misconception or Freudian slip?

My rule is that if you can't add, don't talk, or bad stuff will happen to you. Take this, for example

You didn't even say anything. Here's your post, containing all things that constitute anything resembling an argument:

There's not much there, and what is pretty apparent.

You're absolutely right. Why, then, should I believe you?

Probably not, but I think considering that the who colton thing stemmed from a Serbia post, it's somewhat justifiable.

I am waiting for some others to chime in on this. We're at approx. 9 hrs. to deadline and a few people were notably silent on this. Mandy? LSU? ML?

Famous "Shit I need to buy time" tactics. Your claim is already overpowred, duh. Now you're trying to lure us into thinking it's even more so. BS.

I didn't know Koesie was providing fakeclaims previously, which is the only thing that was bugging me as it did sounds like one of his crazy fakeclaims, albeit more OPd. As a real role, as PCM pointed out, it doesn't make much sense balance wise. It's one thing to reveal your killer upon death, it's another to be able to view it yourself the next night. Now I'm convinced, and I hope we can find the 2 other voters that will be ><

Alright. Does seem a plausible claim, in the fact that it's at least well thought out. But the part that concerns me is that the claim is expanding in later posts.
