Asylum Mafia-Endgame-Cult Wins!

Personally, this looks like a fake claim, so I'm more than willing to lynch him. I would prefer not to claim (those who can use their brain and analyse the scenes should already know who I am), but if everyone in the town wants, I will claim. If today we kill our over-eager vig (who would still cause problems even if he IS pro-town), there will be no kills left, so then we can play around and try to figure out the cultie who is lying here.

I'm suspicious about the claim, partly because if he is some sort of altered sanity vig, who knows whether there is some type of trigger that causes him to become an SKer or something. It's like Sweeney Todd mafia, a fakeclaim closer to the truth is easier to pull off than a fakeclaim further from the truth.

Saxlad claimed that he was Toby, a VT that would switch to mafia if Pirelli died (AKA the movie plot). However, when we lynched him, he turned up as a mafia goon who was immune to investigations (my investigation failed on him). Hence, the fakeclaim was closer to what he was in reality than making a more difficult fakeclaim (doctor or cop for example) because that would mean making up night actions for every night prior and hoping nobody challenges you on that.

Vigilante is a fakeclaim mafia or SKer can use to explain either the attempted kill or the actual kills that do occur. Generally when we talk about the possibility of a town vig is when more than 1 person dies in the night, but that hasn't happened yet in these night scenes.

Anyway, I got my role PM resent (thanks, naxus!), and I am Pheonix Jones, and I am a Town OverEager Vigilante. And my name's in orange, if that means anything (could it?). So yeah, althought I don't know for sure that i'm the banana killer, I am pretty sure I am because no one else seems to have a killing power. So if you want to lynch me go ahead but as far as I know I'm just a VT since my kills have been failing.

First off, John Smith = 8-)

. He's amazing.

Next, I can see how town vig could be used to balance a cult in a setup of mafia. Cult can expand quickly in theory, although we've prevented that by killing the recruiter. A town vig could be used in an attempt to kill off more cult players in case they get a bit out of control in the first two to three days.

At the same time, Shield's claim is just generally suspicious. Assuming 2 starting culties and a 9 player set up, one miskill could lead to a loss if the following situation occured:

Start (7 town - 2 cult)
Mislynch (6 town - 2 cult)
Miskill by vig (5 town - 2 cult)
Conversion by cult recruiter (4 town - 3 cult)

Then on Day 2, you would already have a LyLo situation. Add to that the busdrivers (three of them!) and the vig wouldn't even be hitting the appropriate target, meaning that he is likely to kill town by mistake. I don't understand how that could balance correctly.

He could possibly have either a 50% chance of success or just be crazy. Again, I don't think that balances though. It distracts from the cult, which could quickly grow by crazy proportions.

Shield - why did you choose each of your kill targets? Especially Com 9 during N2.

I chose snow N1 because he claimed busdriver and I thought saf's claim was more believable. N2 I thought Com9 was scum from my list of roles and therefore I thought he would be a good target.

I admit I am naive when it comes to truly understanding the ways of this world, but I do not feel at ease in vanquishing someone who glows with honesty and passion. Surely there is a hidden reason behind all of your concerns, otherwise I cannot see where this desire to remove shield comes from. Can we not reconsider? He has been helpful, explained his reasoning well, pushed on those he suspected, and his story seems all too believable. Haste is not an elixir for fear.

As for why I am wary of edoc and Yoshi, I admit my mind is warped. I had a few reasons as to why I suspected one of them was darkened and the other lightened, but now I am at a loss. But if my simple mind was capable of recognizing a seed of evil in one of them, then my enlightened brethren should be able to uproot this seed.

The town didn't waste any time today, with discussion going in seemingly ongoing circles, a little bit of information was picked up on. Accused and waiting for the rope, The Man claimed to be helping out the town by smearing bananas on the scum he had found. Noone believed him. Atop the Gallows with a rope around his neck, asked for any last words, the man shouted "RAIN CITY!".
