Town/Scum mason pairings aren't entirely unheard of. Sometime masons are told that their partner is town, and sometimes they aren't. I don't think that scum mason members are too common around these parts, but they could crop up from time to time. That said however, his mason partner is obviously the big Lebowski, and therefor probably not aligned with the the nihilists. Not necessarily town, but not likely in the scum group(?) that killed pancake.
And now, what do we actually have left to go off of from yesterday? I suppose I had better go take a look...

Hmm, trying to figure out where to go from here could be tricky. Yesterday was largely focused around DoomYoshi and strikewolf defending him. But since DoomYoshi was an SK then they weren't on the same side, so that doesn't help us uncover strikewolf's alignment that mcuh.
nagerous wrote:14. Mafia have fake claims. Don't believe everything you see. Whilst the various claims/roles may seem radically different to the characters in the film, this is a game where knowledge of the film will be largely beneficial so I urge you all to watch it if you get a chance!
And yet DoomYoshi made no attempt to make a fake claim before we lynched him. Did he just not bother thinking he would be lynched anyway? Or do only official scum get fake claims? Or is this entire rule a lie or something?

As for pancake, assuming that he believed his mason partner to be town, and this assumption may not be true, I would say that his partner is probably not ga7, commander, or mandy. Anybody else is a possibility though...

To be honest, I don't have anything either right now...actually I've kind of felt lost in this game since the beginning of day 2. It would appear that The Big Lebowski is town most likely...though a town-scum mason group would have been fun. I'll look back over what everyone has said and see if I can't find something...

OK guys I'm back, thought life is going to get a bit messy for me so i don't know how long i will be able to keep it up, anyway ill let you know, honestly i don't think a pairing mason-scum is all that common, in fact is way less common than having siblings or lovers paired that way, so ill go ahead and FOS anarkist obviously pointing this out doesn't grant a vote, but i think there is always the chance that might be an scum move for distract us of our goal.

Also i believe that with all the yoshi's defending that strike did someone must have investigated him, and the fact that no one has pop up with an accusation kinda clears him.

About the fake claiming rule and how yoshi played, i truly believe that if did not fake claim was more due to his noobness and how badly he played his cards, than to assuming that this rule was just a sadistic joke from nag to make us paranoid, thought he does get sadistic sometimes, i guess under the bad influence of the chu.

That being said i really need to watch the movie, i am quite lost with the theme.

Two problems with this.
1: There are still several people who haven't posted yet. By my count, Haggis, TA1LGUNN3R, ga7, mandy, and Iliad all haven't posted since the day started. So such an accusation could still be coming.
2: DoomYoshi popped up as an SK. Therefor he and Strikewolf couldn't be scumbuddies. As a result, the likelihood of strikewolf being investigated last night isn't as certain as you make it seem.

Spiesr is actually right...the chances I was investigated went way down when doomyoshi proved to be an unaligned role. But that only goes to show that the main argument against me is now moot.

I have to admit, it's been a fairly long nigth and I don't remember much beyond the yoshi case. Strike did defend him, but since yoshi was a serial killer that was just him protecting an inexperienced player. I don't know if anyone would investigate him over that.

While catching the serial killer was good, it unfortunately cannot lead to discussion from that as a lynch of a mafia would.

Actually Flores... I have played in just as many games where masons were scum/town then I have any other combination. FOSing me for that is fine, if you don't believe me, but you really can ask a lot of the older players here, and they will all agree it has been done quite a bit.

Hey everyone, I'm planning to read this later tonight. I'm in process of moving, so once I get everything moved and study a little bit, I'll read through and post here. Although y'all will probably be in bed by then. :)

fair enough i do believe that you have more games under your belt than me, ill ask the frenchy, thought doesn't make the most appealing pillow talk :P

and yeah sk is not unligned, i was just thinking sk = scum, obviously flawed logic there, i must have been distracted, so strike isnt cleared but the case of him defending yoshi is worth nothing, so were do we stand?

also does anyone else have experience with town/scum mason pairs? and which mod's use this pairing?

I need to reread the game to have something productive to say, but I don't have enough time right now. With my finals being next week, I can't guarantee I'll do it this weekend, but I'll try.
But... It was so artistically done.

K it's almost midnight and my new house is currently w/out internet, so I'll be posting as I'm reading along. This post may end abruptly as I'll submit right before my battery dies (it only lasts about 35 mins tops :( ), and I'm outside on the street next to a coffee shop with no outlet. So excuse any weirdness, no time for editing.

Flores wrote:FOS pancake, mandy crazy ass theories are right half of the time, and at the moment that seems better than the other leads on the table (meaning anarkist and streak).

Defending Nark? But you fos pancake, who previously said something along the lines of "yeah, I see what you're saying about Nark, but that just typical of him." Who turned out to be town.

I'm getting weird vibes from ga7, but then again, I think in every game I've played with him I've accused him at least once, so nothing going there yet (btw I'm only on like page 17 right now, so who knows if that'll hold). He was clearly anti-pancake, but voted for I think tonka.

The main thing I'm trying to figure is who was genuinely against Yoshi and who took advantage of his scumminess.

Flores wrote:my lovely niece just went out with her grandma and i got the time to get my ass here and read, and the only thing i got was yoshi repeating him/her self over and over again with the same flawed logic and baseless accusations (he lied, i swear!!! that's why i hammered, don't take it on me, i'm just a noob with a theater background), then accusing pcm of flaming (btw what i just did in the previous parenthesis it can be consider flaming, not what pcm said) so i see no reason for unvote yoshi, that being said, i wont be able to participate on real daily basis because i'm too busy taking care of my niece while she is in holidays with us.

It's clear at this point that yoshi is the next lynch, she joins in and says her piece.

okay crap this is all I have time for; take everything I said w/ a grain of salt, too rough at this point.

A quick note from me: "It's that time of year again - my finals. I'll try to post, but don't be shocked if that doesn't happen during this week. Furthermore, I am also sick rather badly, so I'm going to try to stay away from the computer as much as I can." If mods feel that they want to replace me, I will fully understand it and I will not budge. Thank you for understanding.

Postby strike wolf on Mon May 09, 2011 4:49 pm

Okay after rereading a couple of times I would like to bring some attention to spiesr:

spiesr wrote:Well, the way things stand now, it looks to me as if DoomYoshi is the scummiest person right now. So I will now vote DoomYoshi with the intent of moving the case, which I find the be the best current one, along. My main point against him at the moment is the post where he tried to deny that Strikewolf was defending him...

This post I found to be significant because it was his first serious vote of the game and did not happen until quite a few days into day 2. I find it a good example of how oeverly cautious I feel spiesr played this game. He has been active in discussion but has not from what I have observed done much to really stick his neck out mostly keeping to popular opinion on the doom wagon day 2, called the streaker wagon "weak but sufficient" before lending his voice to it when it was time for streaker to claim and from what I observed making little to no effort to really point out any cases that were not already being discussed within the thread. This last note may be nothing but he also tends to make statements in the form of questions which could potentially be to allow him a quick back door if someone calls him out on it.

You have good points about Spiesr, I did notice he was making a lot of open statements and Yoshi was calling him out on WIFOM a lot if I recall well, though Spiesr does tend to do that a lot. It seems like a good way to be active without taking any strong stances though... Gonna have to recheck his posts.
