The change between day one and two would be that the mafias would kill someone. That could give us a better clue as to who they might be.
I only see benefit for the mafia if we lynched someone today. Cause that would be one less person they have to eliminate at night. Unless we get lucky and actually manage to find a mafia on day one.
The real benefit of voting, is the off chance that you accuse a mafia member. You don't even need to lynch the member, you just need to vote for them with good enough reasoning. If you start to gather support and one person refuses to support it then there is your scum. But of course nothing is that simple and you can never vote for sure.
I can never decide whether no voting is good or not. It keeps the town alive twice as long, but limits the evidence that you get. (You can still gather new information, because once a townie is killed at night you can verify that they were previously telling the truth). Once again that means the town can only win by talking, giving opinions, sharing theories and such. Some once again,
FOS at anyone who is not talking or at least those who are not providing substance. Which for now is all of us I guess
