I took the effort of rereading and I think I will vote Tailzo Gunshin for BW'ing (even if it's just the second vote) for no reason. Especially since he gave a reason that wasn't even true. Gatso did have a vote.

Oh, jeez... Good thing I checked how many players there are. I thought there were 9 and was gonna push Tails to L-1 for a role claim, but he's already at L-1, so I'm thinking he should claim now...

!Already! Shit my vote was just a joke, Do we look into aage for the BW? He should have know the vote was getting closer at that point, there were two votes on the page already by that point.

Eventually there will be a BW followed by a lynch, but usually it is a BW of joke votes.

Hmm, well as we say you can't make an omelet without breaking eggs, so while the way it happened is a bit weird it's something to start off.
Tails was the first to put a second vote on me, and while this doesn't mean too much since he's a newbie it is still a scumtell, but this post makes me tick a bit:
edocsil wrote:!Already! Shit my vote was just a joke, Do we look into aage for the BW? He should have know the vote was getting closer at that point, there were two votes on the page already by that point.

You're worried about Aage bwing but you don't even unvote Tails. It's like you want to have support first before jumping on another wagon.
So why your vote stays when you hint at another suspect? Two possibilities:
-Tails is your scumbuddy and you don't want to leave the wagon in case it reaches a lynch
-You want to get a townie to claim since he's at l-1 but without appearing too pushy

So which one is it? :P

You guys are hilarious. FOS on you all for skimming. I voted Gatsu Shinichi-san because he voted for me. It's an OMGUS vote. It was even in my post.

Here:

me wrote:OMGUS unvote Vote Gatsu Shinichi-san

Having no votes just means I'm above reproach. ;)

because of this:

ga7 wrote:Vote Tailzo Gunshin Having no votes is a scumtell! :D

;)

Though if I'm at L-1 then I'll be happy to claim:

I'm a Ronin. No Ronin are not scum. That's why I responded to Aagematori Yabu-san on the first page about his suspected scum roles. Unfortunately I can't post my win condition (as per mod's rules), so you'll just have to take my word for it.

Well, I intended to unvote, but only after a bit of dialogue. I also suspected a scenario like this could happen where we could get someone who was eager to claim for one reason or another.

What do we do with a ronin? A disgraced samari, masterless, one who we assumed to be scum.

How is it unnecessary? I was at L-1 for a silly reason. All a scum needed to do was hammer the vote and I'm dead. Seems like a valid reason to me.

First of all you shouldn't have gotten yourself at L-1, and second of all, we would kill the hammer, if there was any... Anybody would have wanted to know what you had to say and at least wait for a claim before they lynch you (which appears to have gotten into the minds of new players as the "standard procedure").

Or maybe Tailzo is my scumbuddy because he decided to vote you just like me. Since he's a newb he doesn't really know what to do, so he just follows my lead.

Now, this isn't true, but I posed a good argument anyways, right? My point is everything could potentially be a scumtell, if you skew things enough. Also, I don't believe Tailzo is as much of a newb as you think.

My vote stays, btw.

Thank You!! or I suppose Domo!!

:D

However Aagematori I'm puzzled as to how I wasn't supposed get myself at L-1. In the 18-hour absence from my last post on page 2, I was sent to L-1 (in a 7 player game, mind you). Seriously I went to bed after posting, went to work, came back, and then found myself L-1. Is that a n00b mistake? Not a lot in my control there. I could understand if this was larger game what you're saying would be true, but this is a very small game./2cents.

And my claiming had just as much merit as not claiming. For example, I don't think you're scum because you unvoted, whereas Edoku Shin-san and Gatsu Shinici-san have not. So either you didn't want to kill a possible townie, or you wanted to avoid being seen voting for a possible townie. I'm thinking (for right now) its the first. But who knows...

I think I find your lynch safer. There's only a few things we know about this murder, and one that is sure is that the culprit had kenjutsu skills.
As a ronin, you have no particular allegiance to this village, and to the point, you don't even have an useful role in this village. If some spiteful merchant gives you three copper coins and a bowl of rice you wouldn't think twice before doing this kind of dishonoring slaughter I'm sure. Your word has no value under our Daimyo's law. As per your condition, you simply make the most likely suspect and we can prevent you from further dishonoring your ancestors by interrupting your life now. You should thank us.

This is the work of a samurai, one way or another. The largest question is whether or not it is a Ronin, a regular samurai from another village, or a samurai from this village who has gone rouge.

A Ronin was a risky claim.

The way I see it it could be samurai from another region trying to stir trouble, but I have a hard time thinking other full fledged samurai could act in such a way. Besides, what's the point in killing a boy if you want to prepare for war? It's not like he was gonna fight anyway... Anyway, one thing is sure, I doubt a ronin could be affiliated with town, so either he's the one responsible (but maybe was hired to do so, which would make sense if we're looking at 2 scum) or he could be a SK like character. Survivor is not impossible but I'm not really used to see survivors in small games... Besides it's as far from "crazy NV" as it gets :P
I guess we could WIFOM on why he claimed ronin but it is very convenient that he can't reveal anything beyond Ronin. Btw that made me check and the rules state you can reveal your name AND role, so that's another element against him.

Okay, I just read the thread, and I also find the ronin claim terribly convenient... while he may not be mafia, my guess is that he's some kind of 3rd party... is a cult likely in this game?
I've even seen games where theres not a "mafia" per se, but just a cult.
So i think it would be a good lynch.

On an unrelated note, with 7 people isn't it 4 to lynch?
and I dont wanna hammer without a bit more discussion i suppose, but i see it as unlikely that ronin is a town role.

If there's another ronin, then I suppose you could come forward and try to confirm his claim, but my guess is that tails will be lynched anyways so it's probably a death sentence on your part if ronins are anti-town.

I dunno. Ronin seems like a non-town role to me.

Yes, ronin was a very risky claim. That's why I unvoted. I don't think he'd have claimed to be the ronin if he didn't have something good up his sleeve.
