The problem is then what do we have to go on on Day 2. Not to mention that we waste one of the town's useful tools.
I can't agree or disagree with you because this sort of slow pacing is something I'm not accustomed to. Your modus operandi is going to differ from mine.
Here's how I've looked at it in the other games I've played.
You vote on D1 with little to no information, and hope you get lucky. Worse case scenario's, the ones that are inno are going to have to role reveal so they don't get lynched, which is generally bad as some roles are more crucial than others (Painting a target on your back, basically), or people bandwagon and jump the gun and now you're down one more townie. Since we have 12 players in this game, I'm assuming there's 3-4 mafia (and no neutral roles?). So there's 1/4 chance that you'll get scum, and this is all assuming everything goes perfectly. Usually doesn't, so instead we're down 2 townies, probably 2 roles we could have really used to discern who is what.
To me, the no lynch and letting people utilize their roles is more of a powerful tool than the lynch. It's too much of a double edged sword to where if the town messes up on D1 incredibly hard, it handily gives mafia the win. At least on D2, we can go off of what information people have gathered, and start discerning who is BSing, and who isn't.
But again, this is a slower paced game, not my forte, so I'm not going to press the issue anymore than I already have.
