Really? That's too easy, Saf. I know we're looking for a foot-hold to push the game out of the joking, but that seems desperate.

Quite frankly, I'm not jazzed about his reasoning for voting Tal, and it looked like an underhanded way to try and discourage serious scum hunting.

Well, it certainly didn't give us much to go on and it wasn't very helpful for any of us. Both him and Chapcrap seem to have the same style of taking up space, emitting hot air, and adding no real substance.

Oh, what is this. WHAT IS THIS! A GREEN M & M? GREEEEN?!?! My rider specifically states no green M & M's in the candy bar. Are you stupid? Can't you read? Are you color blind? But, it doesn't matter. No excuse is good enough for this. You are a disgrace and disgust me. Get out of my site and pack your bags. I'll have you fired before you hit the front desk.

For now though I will vote Chapcrap for openly admitting to want to bandwagon without any reason. Day one or not, that isn't really the best idea.

Yeah, but he didn't act on it. He never hopped on the bandwagon. I don't find that to be all that scummy. Scum would have just hopped on and never mentioned the bandwagon.

Oh, I don't disagree with you on that. But as Shield isn't really talking at the moment so I don't feel it fair to put more votes on him at the moment until we hear a bit more from him. With chap, it's a weak vote at best. However, it's something based on a day of little to go on. So at least putting it out there will hopefully spur conversation from some of the less active people here.

Oh and don't be surprised if maid service is slow tomorrow in the east wing as the hotel had to let two housekeepers go earlier. They were in my room delivering extra pillows and they looked at my belongings in a way which displeased me. I think they wanted to steal them, so I had them fired. That is all.

If Tal is an actor we better watch out if he starts to look scummy.

He could be an actor pretending to be scum. Or scum pretending to be an actor pretending to be scum. Or an actor pretending to be scum pretending to be an actor pretending to be scum. Or...

Also, I would like to hear from Shield. What do you think about the minor bandwagon on you following the joke voting stage? Do you think that some of the people who voted for you are scum? Any accusations you want to throw around? Do you think it was just an innocent mistake made by joke voters?

Mr. Talapus if you'd let me speak, I think we need to be reminded that Mr. Chapcrap is new to this process and thusly he isn't up to speed on how it works. He may think that a blind bandwagon will help the town due to the fact that he doesn't know it won't yet. I think you should know this, although I don't think you're scum due to your importance here. Scum wouldn't want to show their nasty ties.

While I am new to this on CC (as Fir stated), I have played before. I wasn't trying to bandwagon just to do it. I felt like he was trying to change focus, just as safari stated. However, I didn't vote for him (shield) yet because I wasn't sure. And as far as bandwagonning goes, evilchaos is right, why would I even say that I was thinking about jumping on shield if I was scum? I would just back up the argument and hop on.

Tal, as far as taking up space and not adding substance, have you been reading your own posts? I know you're trying to play out your role, but that's all your posts have been until now. That's what my posts earlier were too, playing a role. All you did was say exactly what you have been doing and try to say that I was doing it worse than you. My vote stays on Tal for now, but I have a FOS pointed right at shield. I've got my eyes on both of you.

I actually would agree with this here. I find it strange that Talapus keeps up his little charade even when defending himself (from a weak attack, granted). I almost feel like he is trying to pad his posts with more so as to seem to be contributing more than he is. Hmmmmm.... ;)

Agreed that shield isn't overly suspicious. Neither is Tal for that matter. However, for my money I'd be betting on one of them. There isn't a lot to go on yet.

Aside: I do like Tal playing out his roles. :D

On talapus and his role:

As of now, I don't see as an immediate danger. I don't mind having him investigated and closely following him, but his actions as of yet have not warranted a vote from me. However...

Bingo on this. It's still day 1 and there are no good cases, but Safari's post and his vote on Shield looked as if he was just trying to go for the easiest target (especially knowing shield's "history"), so I wouldn't mind more pressure on him. Unvote. Vote Safari.
But... It was so artistically done.

For being such a prolific poster, he's gone cold for several pages now. Nothing of substance yet, but we're firmly out of the jokevote stage and his jokevote came just as tal was trying to transition to a serious discussion. See, if he had posted a good reason for voting tal or even a good reason for voting anyone, I wouldn't have said anything. But that vote was clearly a joke and aimed at the guy looking for things to talk about.

I'm assuming that was a reference to me. No, I actually was talking about my justification for voting shield.

shield followed the Tal post about rereading the thread with a jokevote based on tal's love of cannibalism when we were joking around about zombies  . And I meant shield posts a lot on the forums so for him to not post in here for a while is a bit odd.

YAY, people are talking and having discussions. See, love or hate my character and persona we are talking about it, and most importantly me...lol. As you should be by the way, I am the center of your universe. On a more serious note, yes the vote I put on chap was weak at best and I'm not really going to defend it. I stated I mainly posted it because it was that or the shield thing and in both cases we can all agree that those are weak arguments at best. We have great discussions happening and god knows this thread is more active then most in this forum. However there are still a few that need to visit us more often. As for someone stating they would be cool with someone investigating me(Not sure who, but one page back) I'm fine with that too. I may be high maintenance and have a ego the size of the moon, but I have nothing to hide. Ideally these discussions carry on and we get something semi useful out of it.

Oh and if some of the higher society types would like to join me later I will be tossing $20 bills over the balcony into the employee smoking area. I've got $1,000 dollars that says that ex-nam bartender will destroy the seasonal employees to get that money. Cheap entertainment, and the staff fights for my amusement. It's win/win. Now feel blessed I acknowledged your existence and talked to you all. You should be very grateful I took the time out of my evening to do so and yes, you are welcome.

The above post makes a good point. Additionally, the small shield wagon was during the joke votes. Fifth seemed to try turning it into a serious bandwagon on a random person for no reason. In the words of F1fth, "I think a little pressure would do us well."

Has anyone else seen scummy activity? I haven't noticed anything odd except Fifth's vote (and Tal's arrogance, but it doesn't strike me as particularly scummy).

Wait, so you're saying that trying to move the game from the pointless joke vote stage to actual discussion is a bad thing? Because that's what Shaggy's post above was trying to do (which indeed is one of the "good points" he made and why I understand his vote on me), and it's what I was trying to do as well with my vote on shield. Your post however doesn't really make much sense to me, nor does it really add anything except a bandwagon vote.

evilchaos wrote:I don't see shield being that suspicious, personally. I haven't seen any really scummy stuff come out of him. I wish he'd answer my questions I directed at him though.

Further, it seems like you have an awfully strong opinion about who seems scummy and who doesn't at this early point of the game. This is really noteworthy behavior and warrants a FOS.

Regarding the Tal/Saf issue:
Despite the fact that several of you are so convinced we'll find some obvious scum tell on day 1 when hardly anything has even happened yet, the truth of the matter is that we have to make things happen to investigate in the first place. Voting the people trying to do that seems counterproductive and suspicious.

That said, I definitely don't feel like shield is the best option right now, so unvote. I apologize for the windiness, but 'tis my nature. Let me know if it starts to wear on people's nerves and I'll tone it down a bit.

*portals in through in interdimensional portal* (and no it has nothing to do with my role)

Sorry guys, my internet connection was down this weekend. I see i caused a lot of commotion and chaos with my joke vote on Tal. Ha ha, although that was not my intention. Tal's post was all a joke, and my vote on him following it was a joke vote based on the fact he had a crude taste for cannabalism, so I decided to joke vote him. It was a joke vote, so Unvote.
Nice to see we've gotten out of the joke vote stage, Praise the Lord! Now we can get down to some serious business.
First of all, I was rather disappointed at saf's vote on me because the wording and the tone made it sound like I made a grave mistake by joke voting Tal, but then I reread the thread a little and concluded that saf's vote on me was a joke. So I didn't mind it. And then the BW, I concluded that there were also joke votes, and then I thought to post something in my defense in case it wasn't, but didn't have time to post it. So I am posting it now. When i joke voted we were still transitioning from the joke vote stage so I guess on extra joke vote couldn't hurt.
Then my internet connection was down for the weekend, and then I came back and found all this good stuff.
I honestly think that saf did not do anything scummy by voting me, however, the BWers that followed him have set off a red flag for me. FoS ALL people who BW'd me It seems they were looking for any easy lynch. And since Easy Lynch is my middle name, everyone jumped at the opportunity. That's really scummy if you ask me. However, maybe they're just playing naively or something.
Tal, my good friend, your PR playing is hilarious. However, you are quite annoying. I wouldn't mind lynching you, though I would go for that $20 for getting you that extra pillow.
Anyway, back on topic, about the game setup and what we have to do to win: I think it is very possible that there are natives on this island and they are trying to kill us/ get rid of us in some way. In referrence to Chris Nolan, maybe there are some characters here who need to do certain things in order to resolve vendettas or something. I mean what else could it be without mafia, cult? SK? IDK as of yet.
And that, folks, is the conclusion of my post.

But first, a mid day scene.

The resort owner had assured everyone that the matter would be brought to a close, his staff were working on contacting the outside world to send help. All the passengers had to do was wait and relax.

A man wandering behind the midway was approached by someone dressed as one of the resort mascots, North Wind God Boreas, depicted as a winged horse.
"Do you want to meet a god?" asked the masked man.

"Hmph, you should be the one who wants to meet me," scoffed the other "Why should I care about some guy in a horse suit?" critiques the man " and I mean what's that blood around your collar for? Some sort of cheesy attempt to say this place killed the cold?"

"Oh, I didn't mean me." corrected the winged one "You see, I mean to say you will meet your maker here today, though I suppose I would be lying since I don't actually believe in such things." he rambled on as he pulled out a middle-eastern styled dagger.

"Oh, Is that so..." said the man disinterestedly, "Well perhaps you will believe once you see a miracle!"
The man throws his corndog at the costumed man's knife, skewering the snack like a kabob. The horse looks down for a moment and takes off the food, when he looks back up he sees the odd garbs of his target fluttering in the distance. The assassin took off his costume and sprinted at full speed, while at the same time tossing his knife to skewer the man's back. he quickly catches up to the firgure only to see someone completely different than his original target. A grey haired African man looks up with pleading eyes, "Why did you do this?" he asks without moving his lips.
"I'm sorry, you probably didn't need to die yet, but now you've seen too much..." he said as he produced another dagger to cut his talented throat before making a hasty exit.

The real hired mascot's body was found later by employees.
