In a game like this, usually no majority = no lynch... but would be nice to be sure.

A reminder, the rules state everyone must vote by day end (unless of course someone is lynched first). So that gives a better chance that someone really will get majority.

I agree epi somehow rubs me the wrong way too, although looking back on his posts here I don't see anything in particular to hang my hat on. He and dakky are defending each other... so we could get lucky and they are our scum pair lol. I would be ok with pressuring epi, or lynching dakky if we get close to deadline and nothing else happens.

madmitch writes weird things and this is only my second game with him so I am unable to read him. I'd stay on dazza but since no one has the same feeling, I'm changing my vote.

This indicates (to me) that he is either a town PR or scum. Gut feeling nothing more, but what raises flags to me is that as a VT he would not ask how to play any particular game.

Now that you've said that, there's a good chance he's probably dead tonight anyway. So either we can wait and see, and lynch him if he's still alive D2, or get a claim. Getting the claim is probably the better idea.

For the uninitiated, open set up games of mafia often utilize certain strategies. Examples, being follow the cop and follow the vig. When you know or have strong reason to suspect that a couple of certain roles are in a game, you can use that to your advantage and systematically eliminate the mafia.

For the new guys, follow the cop is used in a set up where you know that there is at least a cop and a doctor. The cop claims and if there is no counter claim, that person is cleared knowing that there is a doctor alive who can protect him/her each night. If there is a counter claim, then you sort out the two claimed cops within the first two days and you're in an even better situation as town because you are guaranteed to have a scum by the end of D2. Follow the vig is based on the same idea.

We are in a semi-open set up. So, going into this game, I thought there might have been a set strategy or two that we could use to more efficiently and effectively root out the mafia.

If the setup is Row 2, then we could do follow the cop for example. But having never played this particular set up, I didn't assume that follow the cop would be the best way forward and frankly had no clue if there was a set strategy or not. So, I asked. Instead of discussing the strategy or explaining the best course of action, the lot of you accuse me of being scummy. Is that a joke? Or are some of you guys just lacking imagination about the best ways to handle this particular set up?

I felt that this was a town sentiment when I read it because this has happened to me before (and it's happening now). I'm not going to claim based on this bandwagon crap--present a real case on me before I divulge another claim on the table for the mafia.

The bulk of my post was explaining my comment at the very beginning of the game about strategy, for which I've drawn the most flak. If I'm being accused, I can only respond to the case presented--that being people's problems with that comment. I can't really respond to gut feelings.

I only mentioned your vote and Marashu's vote as crap votes because I don't think those are good enough to prompt me to claim, even if it means I'm at L-2--that's not exactly aggressively defending myself by accusing others.

This is my only 3rd or 4th game... and from what I have learned, people say it is better to have a lynch D1 than not to have one. If I am to believe madmitch claim (and for somehow I believe him), that leaves 7/9 (12.85%) chance to hit a mafia member.

No one of you followed my lead on "joke vote" of dazza, no one is even suggesting virus or Hotshot, not to mention NoS, mets and Marashu. So, wagon on you seems like a fair trade-off, if you are town and you get lynched, we will look into those who didn't vote for you. If you get lynched and you are mafia, it's pretty much win for the town.

I said I hate Day 1 and you said let's lynch me to put me out of my misery. It can be counted as a joke vote, but in the other game I played, someone also said similar thing and he turned out mafia. So that's why I accepted it for granted, as you would like a quick lynch and to be sure you've eliminated one town member. Apart from that, I read you neutral so far.

Madmitch sounds to me as an inexperienced player who writes stuff before he reads the posts. I wouldn't call that scummy, just poor as Epi would say.

Fair enough. That's really the only way to get the conversation moving on D1 since scum rarely come out and mess up right off the bat.

I also agree with your point about a lynch > no lynch on D1. I suppose where a disagree (aside from pressuring me in general) is going for a third claim this early, especially in a game this small. It really narrows the night actions for the scum or reveals a PR.

For the record, I put mitch to L-3, and only because I was fp'd by HotShot who also voted for him. You were the one who put mitch to L-2. As for my vote on you, you were giving enough people a strange vibe that I felt pressure would be a good way to use time before deadline. If you're not going to claim, then at the very least, the push opened up some more discussion before deadline, which is better than an early lynch in my opinion.

My vote stays where it is, on the player who I think is trying to throw epi under the bus to save his own ass. Dakky is the scummiest player right now in my opinion.

Madmitch lynch can be gotten out of by everyone saying "well, I was just thinking his jump on dakky was scummy" and I have had a really sudden change of heart after how epi has replied and his sort of case on dakky.

Dakky's only scum reads happen to be the OMGUS type... and he persisted in the dazza = scum because of dazza's joke vote, even after everyone (including dazza) said it was just a joke... I don't know if he's scum, or a frustrated town; I've seen similar reactions from both types before. After epi's last couple posts I don't want to lynch epi... and I think mitch is more town than dakky at this point... so out of the three which are the likely lynches I will have to vote dakky
