Does freestyle benefit those who spend all day on CC?

Is there an incentive to play freestyle if you are the type that frequently logs into CC? You have almost limitless control over when you play, which would seem to be pretty advantageous.

yes ... freestyle games are mostly about timing, not skill. So if you suck at risk, but can log on frequently, go with freestyle.

Ouch. Probably true, though. I just prefer freestyle because I am on here damn near all the time (plus, with the firefox notifier, I just have to leave the computer on), so it feels like I get to play more often.

You are very wrong.
I think that 6 player sequential escalating is really all about luck.
You can be the best player ever, but to win these is really mostly random

The fact that freestyle games are about timing adds another element of skill to the game.
In sequential, the outcome is often determined by what the other players do (or do not do) and if critical events happen when it is not near your turn you cannot control it. That to me shows that there is more luck in sequential because you have less control over the outcome of the game.

i again have to add my input, there is nothing like chasing people down in freestyle, attacking before they attack, deploying before they attack, etc
fortress's 4 player freestyle games are some of the most fun on the site, but my nerves can only handle them every once in a while
but if your looking for a freestyle lesson...join his game

Of course it benefits them. If you're online all the time you have an obvious advantage over someone who checks once a day.
Freestyle players will argue that there's skill involved also, and I admit, choosing the right time to make your move in freestyle is important, but probably not as important as having no life.

It would be cool to have two accounts (perish the thought) one for rt freestyle, and one for non-rt

Oh, and as for the original topic: being on the computer all day will definitely help you out in freestyle but its still not EVERYTHING. The nice part about those notifier programs people created is that you don't have to worry about your turns all day....you can do anything else needed on the computer and take your turns at the key moments in freestyle games.
My advantage is not that I constantly check my games (though I'm sure I do way more than average)....but I am at my computer a lot of the day, even if I'm not on the comp. I do my homework on this desk which is a few hours a day....and glancing up for a little green dot every once in a while is an easy way to check game status

I think that in RT Freestyle games people who are used to that totally get the upper hand. I've played a handful of RT now and all the ones that were Freestly I totally got STOMPED DOWN. My computer is slow sometimes, and by the time I get my armies deployed that country is destroyed.
Or maybe it's just time to admit that I suck.

Why do all threads slightly involving freestyle gaming end up in rows about which is better: sequential or freestyle? I could put money on it happening to this one.
Oh yeh - freestyle is definitely better

I blame wicked, she started the freestyle bashing. But in answer to the question everyone is agreed it's a yes, right?
Ps. freestyle sucks.

Freestyle RT is chaotic, on the other hand. Sometimes it gets down to who has the fastest internet speed.
RT sequential works out really well, but freestyle can be quite fun ...
