Luck or Skill?

Probably a topic that's been frequently talked about here, but do you think that Risk / CC predominantly revovles around Luck or Skill or an amalgamation of both?

I think a good strategy is essential but sometimes even a good strategy is no match for some unlucky dice rolls.

I agree with moz there, a good strategy is esental, with it you can turn a fight around in no time at all. But even with that, the dice are the final jury. A good strategy keeps you alive when lady luck turn her back.

I've had a few games where I had a wonderful action plan, only to be nearly taken out of the game by some bad dice rolls.

Let me say this way:
A good coach cant make the team win if there are only poor players in the team... But a poor coach can waste a team with good players. In CC is the same. Coach is the strategy, and the rolls are the players.
