I've heard that it is by invitation only.
But I don't care, I don't want to go to thier stupid party anyway.

Minimum requirement is 2000 points / colonel (which will be increased as time goes on)
Must be seen to be playing in the existing Elite games
Negative feedback is taken into consideration
Playing lots of doubles games with a well known partner against noobs counts against you.

New members will be invited into playoff games to judge their skillz and then the new person has to get three 'yes' votes from the commitee.

It's a tough group to get into.

oi oi

If I may ask...why were these instituted in addition to the elite games? So the well-respected members of the community don't have to play against faux-colonels?

I cannot speak for the founders, but I believe the intent was to pave the road for the super-duper elite games which will feature only 1 player.

They will also have the 'non-stinkycheese' games starting up soon, but I have no details on that.

I want to start the next "non-stinkycheese" game.

Just be patient... we are trying to be thourough, and some of the criteria is still being fine tuned. It may be weeks/months before we're done.

The criteria for a special invitation to a super elite game is more complex than noted above...
as you are already aware it is a closely guarded secret, decided by a committee.
Players are added and removed by a secret process.
I would explain it here and now, except that it is.... well, secret.

Obviously though, it is no secret that it requires high marks in
Playing Technique...
Game Etiquette...
Strategy Skills...
to name just a few.

It's taken me 6 weeks to learn the complex secret hand shake. Then after that - to get to the game table, It's very similar to Oceans 11 for the perimeter security set up. These games really aren't worth the trouble of joining. I lost the first game I played because i had cramp in my legs due to being tightly wedged in a wheely bin for 6 six hours.

I'm a member and I don't know crap about it. I can only guess who the top three are, based on who I'm getting communications from. I'd say, but I don't know if I'm allowed.

Other than that, everything is a mystery. Take this:

Robinette wrote:Players are added and removed by a secret process.

I only hope that, if I'm removed, someone will tell me what I did and how I get back in!

Basically, as far as I can work it out, there are a group of three who have a history of making statements, on his forum especially, to the effect that they want to raise the level of their game ever higher. Their interest in points is secondary to their quest to play only the best in order to be the best, points being mere evidence of their superiority (and good evidence too... they are damn good.)

As far as I can tell, the people they've pulled together are people who don't "make mistakes." I wrote several sentences trying to explain what that means exactly, but it's harder than I thought. It means that you know your maps, you know your styles, and you can look at the maps and know what's going on everywhere on it. It means that if you lose, you at least have a theory why and an idea that you won't do it again. And then you don't, and your points are evidence of that.

Alliance-makers appear to be out... and Pedro has said something to the effect that newb-fishing doubles/triples players are also out. And of course there is at the moment a friend-of-a-friend kind of aspect to it, but it's early days.

I was at first concerned that this super-elite thing was another attempt to hold points within rank, but now (and again, there hasn't been any kind of manifesto sent out at any time, so I'm guessing) what it LOOKS like is an attempt to get serious about the game beyond what's been done so far. Playing public games is fun, it seems to say, but let's stop playing and get scary. It's not a clan, because a clan implies that we're all friends and we all care about each other and we get each other's backs. They're specifically not saying that. They're saying that they care how well you play and that's IT. It's a conspiracy for excellence.

Don't look at me... I'm scared too. Do you see the people in these games? I gotta step it up.

can't be that super elite if I was asked. but as soon as I heard Zaw was in there, I had to pass.

And there was me thinking that the main point of playing CC was to have fun.... the above posts make it sound like far too much hard work to me... so long may I be low in points!!

Yeah - I invited you, because regardless of your score - you're a solid player. But my 2 other gurus pointed out we need a minimum score. I wasn't too bothered about scores - it was more based on how good a player you are.
Things have changed since then - 2000 points or winning your way through a multi game qualifer is the only way to get to stage 2 (the pending list)

Well like I told who asked me, as much as he denied it was an "elite" game, I don't do elitist type games.

The only reason I asked this question was because there were hardly any elite games open at the time and I tried to join one of these thinking it was for just colonels...boy was I wrong. You guys seem pretty intense about this stuff!

Don't bother with the consignment note numbers. We have received by parcel courier service 3/4's of a pint of blood, with a sent from address of : PENNSYLVANIA

could you please re send the full amunt of 1 pint to forfill the original criteria demanded in the letter.

Ty

ps - this time use a plastic bottle, not some plastic bag with the top tied using a poor quality knot.
