my country is wrong

on the scorebnoard it says my country is the united states. i just checked myself and i am still in the uk where i have always been.

just wondering if anyone knew why this was

I use a uk proxy at school and i appear from the uk as I have a uk ip..


so if you have a us ip somehow thats why.

have neither of them it has always said uk before it has just changed the only thing i have different is i am now using a notifier for my games, don't think that could do it though

Well, i think this is a bug that lack has recognized and is workingon...


if it bothers you so much.. try using a proxy from the uk.

The way it works is every Wednesday (except this Wednesday - forgot to set it up on new server #-o) we get an updated GeoIP database. Each time you login it looks up your IP in the database and saves the associated country to your account.

But even an up-to-date database is only 99% accurate and we have more than 99 members so this is bound to happen. I need to put an override mechanism in place so people can correct their country. It's on my to-do list :)

Doesn't that lead to potential abuse like me making my country bolivia.

I've been contacted by a lot of Polish players (over 30) - and they are all showing a union jack by their names.

Then we all worked out that they are all here picking potatoes, building the olympic stadium and fitting wonky windows!

How we all laughed.....

Agree, it's a way to avoid cheaters to not enter a game with people from the same country who joined the same day. Think it's better to have 1 out of 100 wrong than making it easier to cheat.
