How do you establish a clan?

is there a formal process, someone I must talk to about forming a clan? What's the benefit to having a clan anyways?
I've got a group of a dozen or so players, How many do you need to form an effective clan.
school me on this... Please....

the benefit of having a clan is that you get to use a private forum, plus you can set up fun tournys and other events.
in order to create a clan, you must find 5 other people to join (i think) and then pm a moderator. after that, once you're approved, you're good
if that doesnt work, join the Gridiron Gang. just change your avatar to something about American Football

All you do is post that you are starting a clan and that's it. Now if you wanna make a mark here at CC, you should post that you are starting a clan that will be the biggest and greatest clan ever in CC history, then deliver on that. Very few can pull that off.

Ours is going to be a special interest clan, catering to people who brew their own beer. Homebrewers. While we may be drunk, we can definitely kick anyone else's ass. Other clans should watch their backs.
And while our clan may not be the biggest one ever created. it will definitely be the greatest and be drinking the best beer in history. Everyone else is a bunch of Budweiser drinkin' pansies if you ask me.

Just doing what master bush instructed. making outrageous claims of being the biggest and greatest in history. I don't know if we can deliver on that....
