team points

Postby Telvannia on Fri Oct 06, 2006 1:55 pm

i think when a team member deadbeats the remaining team member should get any point that he/she might win

any other opinions on this?

I think you should play with people you trust, that way it won't be an issue.

Sometimes, you can't always choose the people you play with in team games because they join your team after you've already joined the game. I like Telvannia's idea. I played two triples games where my partners in both games went completely deadbeat and did not take a single turn leaving me to square off against 3 higher ranked players, which ultimately led to my losing points. This leads me to think that deadbeats who cause a teammate to lose should also lose points to his/her partner to compensate that person's loss.

Nope.

whew. There was a winky in there. For a second, I thought they meant it.

I think, as much as playing a double with a deadbeat can suck, giving extra points to the one player might lead to multiaccount cheating. It is obviously harder to win with a deadbeat partner, but not TWICE as hard as winning without. I have had a doubles partner deadbeat twice and won both times due to the extra boost in armies and general stupidity of opponents. A player could create a 2nd account to play with and intentionally deadbeat the second account. If things start looking poorly, they can choose to use the deadbeat player's turns and not deadbeat. They may also use the players turns a few times to get the board set up right (get oceana with deadbeat armies blocking in siam) and then deadbeat.

Your opinion and point here is meaningless; an attempt at being clever with words beyond your level of intelligence.

Now crawl back to losersville.

And I agree with AMP.
