does anyone actually enjoy freestyle? where did this idea come from? i unfortunately signed up to play a freestyle game without bothering to read the rules on what exactly freestyle was. i dont have a problem with the idea of individuals not necessarily having to play sequentially every turn...but freestyle actually allows two people to play at the exact same time! how do you know where to deploy if you have to refresh the screen every 5 seconds to stay abreast of the changing board? this to me is madness. id be interested in hearing someone champion freestyle though so please respond.

I enjoy freestyle. What you are complaining about is what I like about the game. It can make for an interesting game.

When you don't have premium and want to play, freestyle is great since there is a turn at least once a day. Really speeds the game along, especially when you have deadbeats.
Freestyle is simply less organized way to play. It shouldn't matter most of the time where the enemy deploys since you should take into account where they can deploy/attack from in all games and more importantly where they will probably get the best benefit from. Freestyle really benefits the people with the most amount of free time since they can get in double turns on their opponents.

Freestyle with simultaneous turns simplywould not be possible in real life, but I would like to try playing freestyle where as soon as one person starts their turn they get to finish uninterupted. You could just have some call word or signal to declare the start of your turn, so if there is a rush its clear who gets to go first.
Simulataneous turns would be fun but definitely would not work.

JUST make sure you don't play freestyle with a 3 person game... I learned the hard way how bad it is to get tag teamed, with a announced alliance before my turn begins...
Now that sucks.

I started a freestyle REAL-TIME game once...
6 Players ALL playing at the SAME TIME!
Now THAT was crazy! You should try it sometime.
It's kinda like a demolition derby!

in real life, armies dont take turns seperately. they both do things at the same time, with the other not always knowing what is going on.

lol yes but in real life battles take more than a few seconds to roll some dice so you have time to plan your campaign while your troops are fighting in the field. also in real life there are mission objectives, some areas are of greater strategic importance due to other factors besides trying to "complete your continent bonus"
