Good Bye CC

This game was shown to me by a friend a few months back, being the big nerd that I am, naturally I jumped on the band wagon...

It was alright for a little while, Can't really say "fun" just alright. When I first started, everything seemed legit, a fun game, to pass time on. I soon upgraded to a premium membership to maximize the carnage.

What a mistake that was.

I've had a few good laughs with some people in chat, or in games, but for the most part this game is just bad for my overall temperament. Very often I find myself in a game planning 5 or 6 moves ahead with what good play would be, only to be suicided on by some dice crazed idiot, or to run into a very unlikely streak of bad dice myself. Very rarely even a very good turn by an opponent who momentarily out-witted me... Even the occasional miracle dice by an opponent. The kind of dice where you are just like... "wow.... his 3 just really killed my 10 to break my bonus and hand him the game... wow... gg"

Mostly just suicidal idiots (see my negative feedback, like I said temperament)

Point being among the other problems this game has, the bottom line for me is that it isn't fun anymore. There are a few defining reasons, being the lack of real competition, the dice, the idiots, I could keep going but there isn't any real point...

This is not fun to me:

Over and over again.

No this isn't another dice whine thread, but I will point out that the dice are streaky. Sure you could argue that it evens itself out because it's like that for everyone blah blah blah, and why do the top ranked players stay on top, and I'll get to that. But as for the dice, it's really shitty when I'm making the winning sweep of the map, no possible way to lose, like 100 vs 15 type sweeps, and I don't lose a single unit, because I know I'm going to lose an important roll next in some other game lol!

As for the competition in this game, there is none. Not an ounce. I made it to only 2100 score playing with random people, random number of games, so you could argue "but Vyk!!! If it's so easy why don't you do it!?" The answer is simple. I can't find any partners :(

Almost every top player just does nothing but play the majority of their games teams. For good reasons too. To compete at the top you need to only play 8 player esc games, or team games... Period...

"blah blah blah I play tons of heads up matches"

Don't give me that, you play heads up private matches against other high ranked players so that if you lose, it's no big deal. Start a public game and play against a cook. I'd like to see that... Not much you can do in that position other than lose 100 points due to bad dice.

The point is, I enjoy (when dice allow) playing many types of games, not just the same 8 player esc games, and well I can't find any partners to play with (easily can be directed at my over all attitude with this site, and my general lack of patience with morons, so not blaming anyone, It's just my style)

I expect I'll see a lot of not very thought out responses, maybe even some "good riddance" and that's fine.

I work as a head in a major tribal casino, I see statistical improbabilities on a daily basis, but none the likes of the dice on this game.

So yeah, It was alright while it lasted. I'll finish out my games and be gone. Maybe in the future when said problems are fixed this game will be enjoyable once more.

Until then~

Which problems? The one where you can't tell what random dice are, or the one where no one wants to be on your team? Cause those can only be fixed on your end.

The problems where the "scoreboard" is designed to only reward those with enough stamina to play only 8 player esc games and triples.

I'm not here to argue about dice randomness. I know in my heart they are streaky. I make almost $100,000 a year watching real dice all day long friend, and I would bet my money on any craps table over the dice in this game.

The end.

I'm going to sleep. goodnight CC

I think you have to play as if:

a) the dice could go wrong at any moment

-and-

b) some idiot could screw things up at any moment

I, personally, haven't had any major problems with dice. I've had plenty of headaches with other players, but I consider that to be a part of the game. I say play whatever games you want to and don't worry too much about rank.

Don't know you, but judging by your post you have a bad attitude, come across as arrogant and probably wont be missed...

On the one hand you bemoan a lack of competition, and on the other you say you only play public games against random opponents, and criticise those who play against good opponents (hint: this is where you will find competitive games)... then you say that to get to the top you can only play team games, then change your mind to say 8p escalating games too - this is all nonesense, people have gotten to colonel playing 2 player games, flat rate and no card singles, mixes of all types of games. 6-8p escalating and team games are just the most popular types of games.

Mentioning your salary too is a pretty lame argument - "I make a decent salary therefore my opinion is more important"

And why you think posting your dice analyser which shows actual dice very close to ideal helps your case I don't know

Hope you have a nice life :)

Don't set unreasonable goals, like being at the top of the scoreboard, because you probably aren't the best. And if you are tired of being suicided by crazy idiots, then play against good players: you can find officers and captains games in callouts.

If someone, somewhere doesn't get 100 1s in a row, then something is wrong with the dice. If that's what you mean by streakiness, then it's a good thing they are streaky. Next time, use your head, not your heart.

Judging by this- the attack won more than the defender, so what the hell are you bitching about?

He wants the dice to be real

but I don´t think CC ever claimed it was

don´t know if it even is possible - no randomizer can copy the mechanics of the real universe..
I´m not sure atmospheric noise or even real dice are a 100% random

You guys call him arrogant, when the fact is not a single thing he said was far from being absolutely accurate.

1) The top-ranked players in this game protect their ranks like a bunch of virgins guarding their cherry.
All you've got to do is check their games to see he's right about that. -They play only each other so they don't have to part with their precious points.

2) The dice streaks are pure bullshit, and no matter how many ways people try to validate it, it ruins the game when you either lose your ass against highly improbable rolls, or are even hesitant to attack because you know that at any moment the defender dice are going to get stuck on 6's.

3) I can't even count the times a player, or other team, has decided to attack me or my partner for absolutely no tactical reason, and caused us to lose knowing that they too would lose.
-In one of my trips games lately our "team mate" (who joined after us) did the exact opposite of what we requested, didn't even attack the other team, and fortified in a way that benefitted only our opponents.

4) you guys can bag on him all you want, but I doubt there's any of you who hasn't felt the exact same way at some point. -The dice are bullshit, they're not "random" when the defender rolls 6 after 6 after 6 after 6, and I think if this guy's that frustrated he may be much happier minus CC.

We all have felt betrayed by the dice at points but thats just the way the game works. Also theres the callouts and whatnot, I play 1v1s or callouts I dont do the random team games because of the above mentioned problems. Find a way that works for you or if its not for you then w/e

I think #1 is easily explained by #3. It's tough to deal with people who hand the game to someone else...possibly someone ranked much lower than you.

Elijah, you may want to recheck these top players guarding their ranks, check JR's games: he may come across arrogant and protective of points, but check his MANY games he plays vs cooks and cadets. I know of a lot of players that have high scores and still play against others under 1000, hell, MOBAJOBG who posted here does it all the time as well.

Vyk, you really need to suck it up if you ever want to come back. I've had the worst dice Ive ever had this week, yet I'm still up about 100 points, becuase I play with or against good opponents. Playing against random opponents is what can make this unappealing, as youve found out by suiciders or deadbeats. Change your attitude about rank and try to have fun, its the only way your rank will ever go up...

The mt_rand() function in PHP is almost 100% accurate. So is the Math.random() of JavaScript. I don't know the exact numbers but they're within .001% after enough rolls.

Have a nice life.

If you were saying there is no competition and you had like 6500 points....that would make sense. But you clearly dont.

CC needs more humility

Well I agree.... have you ever, as a corporal or less, joined a team game on a side with a Lieutenant or higher? Well, we've all tried, but as soon as they realize someone who sucks is on their team they drop.

Funny..........if you want to eliminate suicidal players, ( which there are...) and fucked up dice, ( which there is...) And base the game on pure multi-level strategy and skill....

Just play chess.
