Is Bluffing ok? Do you consider it OK to to bluff someone in a close game? I don't mean promising to do something and going back on your promises, just "Blues weak now, get him green!" and blues got a fifty sitting on his last territory?

That's when you should tell the truth and let them assume you are bluffing.

FoW's biggest tactical difference is the ability to gamble on fortifications and of course potential mis-information in the chat. It is a dimension that doesn't exist in the other formats of this game. So while the potential of a successful bluff exists, it's just as risky as moving all your armies to generate offensive power while leaving blind spots to your opponents vulnerable. Another risk is that even when a bluff works... other players do not always react by taking action the way you expected them to do.

The game logs often expose players' words as a bluff.

oh, no I love fog, I'm questioning the morals of MY OWN strategy

I find this very interesting... On the secular "general discussion" forums, bluffing (which could be considered deceiving) has 2 votes against it. In the christian "Jesus Freaks" forum, 100% have voted "pro-bluff" :?

I use chatter all the time to get somebody off my back to direct attention, but I find its more convincing to actually base my statements on truth.

As for bluffing in Fog games, I don't think its cheating but I don't like it. I wouldn't leave somebody a neg for it, but I might leave a neutral feedback for others to see what they're in for against you, and I would probably add you to my ignore list.

Likewise, I would probably add somebody to my ignore list if they actually believed your bull and attacked me. The only thing that bugs me more than a b.s. artist is a newb who buys it.
