Scoring

I'm sure there's a logic, and I'm probably being pessimistic, but could someone explain the scoring system?
I just lost 36 points in a 2 player game on the Middle Earth map in 8 rounds. In a very similar game a few weeks ago, I won in 8 rounds and earned 11 points.

nothing to do with the number of rounds. its your ranking.
losers score/winners score times 20.

Ranking doesn't explain it.
The 36 point loss was to a 1bar Cadet. The 11 point win was to a 1 striper Private. I'm a seargent.

OK Demon. I understand math. But how is the loser's score and the winner's score determined?

Everyone starts with 1000 and then it gets added to, or detracted from

Risktaker17,
I understand that.
I'm talking about individual games.

Your "score" is not the amount you get in the game. The "score" is the number of points you possess right when the game ends.

So if a new person joins they have a score of 1000. A veteran might have a score of 2000.

If the newbie wins, they get 2000/1000*20 = 40 points (vet loses 40 points)
If the veteran wins, they get 1000/2000*20 = 10 points (newbie loses 10 points)

The system rewards you for beating higher ranked opponents, and "punishes" you for losing to lower ranked opponents. The overall idea is that it gets harder and harder to increase your score as it gets higher.

I get it

Glad to hear it :)

There have been a few previous instances where people get confused because of the word "score". The instructions are worded properly, but sometimes people confuse "score" with the points to be awarded.
