can I ask the mods to do something...?

Postby wol-va-rine on Tue Feb 05, 2008 7:50 am

I got screwed hard last night, I had 11 armies left to deploy after setting up to break my opponents bonuses and the maintenance screwed me, I never got to deploy those armies and never got to play the ones I had already deployed...

what makes it worse is that it was down to just me and one other player, and not only does he now basically get to play twice in a row, he gets to keep 23 bonus armies from bonuses I never got a chance to break and I didn't get a card for that round, I have 9 bonus armies coming to me at the moment, but figure the odds that he doesn't break those bonuses with those huge 1s defending them...

I'm pissed, I can't believe I'm going to lose points because of this...

   ...

check out the game...

I believe they won't. Every one was told when logging in when the upgrsde was gonna take place. you tried to beat the stop signl and didn't. Just my theory.

I just find it pretty ridiculous that I should lose points when I get screwed over like that with something that the maintenance wasn't even supposed to effect, especially in a game where I had a more than reasonable shot to win, I actually thought that I was in the drivers seat at that point...

I would've had at least a 7 army bonus with 7s defending them on a board mostly full of 1s, and he would've had zero bonus armies his next turn, and I was ahead or even in cards at that point...

very disappointing to say the least...

Fill out an eticket (located under Help up top). Not saying Lack will do anything, but it's his call and worth asking. I agree you got screwed and it's completely unfair.

I talked with Lack and he's willing to delete the games that were affected by the unexpected forum outtage. If you had this happen, fill out an eticket (under Help up top).

Prowler got screwed over once by a server screwup and lost something like 60 points because of it. Both the players couldn't access the server, and the other player had been the last one to take a turn so Prowler ended up being the deadbeat. That is not the way games are supposed to be played. :o

Is it really the end of the world? Every website has to do maintenance at some point. Quit crying about it...you'll win games and get your points back.

meh, I wouldn't want it to effect the other player, it wasn't his fault, deleting the game would take away his points, if anything, I would just want the points adjusted to bring my points back up (I actually lost a rank because of it), if there's no way to do it w/o effecting his points I'll just take my lumps...

anyway, I already filled one out, and the reply was that we were warned and played at our own risk...

nobody's crying, I was just wondering if my points could be put back, that's all, my opponent played 6 minutes before me and if he had took 1 minute longer it would've been him, and I still would've posted something about it in the forum, because it wouldn't have been fair, no matter who it had effected...

his voice is like thunder from the mountain.. so clear.. so distinct... so final... anyway, when the site got jumpy, i stopped taking turns and kind of watched the forums explode with complaints about buggy activity, which lack explained... i felt really sorry for that guy "neutral" that got kicked out of a few games for missing turns!! what an interesting night it was around here, last night! i can't wait for round 2!! go lackattack and twill and uber-mods of the CC-dom!!!!-0

That was probably before lack decided to delete affected games. Go ahead and fill out another, or just reply to the ticket email.

The forums went down right on time. It was scheduled for a few hours and Lack stayed within those parameters. The only difference was the site went down temporarily, which wasn't planned, but then again, neither were the bugs.

I think he should get his points back... the note said it would only affect PMing and the forum... which is wrong... so he's right, he should get 'em back!

lack said they would delete affected SPEED GAMES, this was a standard game. he went at his own risk, no pun intended... he could have waited the 2 hours like several of us did when it started getting screwy, but he went... sucks, but he didn't have to go...-0

Agreed. I've pointed that out to Lack, it's up to him. If someone got double turns, it most definitely gives them an unfair advantage. I played all my turns when this was all going on, as I had no choice (it's when I play nightly). We'll have to wait and see what Lack decides.

it defenitley was buggy and a shock to realize things were happening well before we were warned... but, that is the beauty of a 24 hour turn... i'm sure lack will be fair... and as i said before, i feel bad for that guy "neutral" that got kicked out of so many games for missed turns. i still can't believe that, it is hilarious!!!-0

especially when you're down to the last two players and are in continual bonus breaking mode, every turn, every card counts...
