Well seeing that the tournament forum has been getting less busy lately I decide to put up a poll just to see how active it is.

If you are starting a tournament then you need it to fill up then send a message to OP or steelhorse getting tournament privs

I just joined the leet triples tourney. hoping to pull out a crown in that one. About a year or so ago, I played in a doubles king of the hill tourney. We won our first 10 matches and never played again. thats pretty much all I have done with that section.

I don't join tournaments because they look VERY unorganized and I can't tell which ones are open, what type of maps are being played, ect.

Apparently you don't look hard enough. Each tournament thread, has a description at the beginning. It's plain as day.

I kinda agree with him. I mean ya it has all the information in there but you have to read the entire thread to understand it. you can't just skim. That's why i think we don't have as many people joining tournaments because there is so much information that needs to go into them that people don't want to take the time to read it all so they mearly skip over it.

If players do not have the fortitude to read a post all the way through to understand what is required of that tournament, then they should not be joining tournaments. Sorry for the honesty, but that is the truth. 95% of the tournaments out there are VERY clear in what is required with FAR fewer words than could be used to describe it. We aren't talking about reading an entire thread here, just 1 post, and while some of them may be somewhat long, if you don't have the time to read through it then don't bother joining tournaments. The organizers should not have to dumb things down for the players any more than it already is.
On another note, creating separate forums for each tournament will only add to the confusion, not alleviate it.

Also, while I'm being slightly confrontational about the whole thing.....how hard is it to figure out? Tournaments looking for players are in the Create/Join Forum, those already started are in Ongoing, and those that are finished are in Completed.
That is why we have the forums.

Theyre all the same thing with a stupid name. Half the Tournaments say stuff like "Star Wars Tournament!!" but the only thing that is related to the theme is kinda the map, and sometimes the names of bracket sections. I realize there are creative ones out there, but a lot of things were a huge turnoff that made me not really want to return.

Because you only play freemium low ranks players?

Perhaps we could have a separate tab somewhere that is a little bit more organized. It could show Map type, game type (singles, doubles), chained/unlimited, and all of that info. There could be a join button or a place to put a password to join.
This list could also show the status of the tournament (e.g. awaiting players, completed, in progress) and could even link to a bracket (a la NCAA 64 tournament style) to see how it is going.
That, in a nutshell, is what I meant with my previous post. It is difficult to find out who is still in the tournament, if it's going or needs people, without reading a million threads. You could still advertise in the threads but a nice place where it's organized in a more easy to read manner would make it much more appealing to me.
EDIT: Wow, I didn't even know that other ongoing page existed. Which, perhaps, it not being clearly evident it was there is another issue all to itself.

another noob that doesnt know how to read before he post
"I just joined the leet triples tourney".
yeah- theres a shit load of low ranks in there. If your that upset about a high rank that plays some games vs low ranks, than go flame SkyT. thats the only rank he plays and uses 3 accounts to beat them. There are also plenty of other high ranks that play low rank opponents too if you would spend the time and look before you run your mouth.

It would matter how recently you've visited. Tournaments was reorganized during the fall to split it into a variety of subforums (creating/sign up, ongoing, abandoned and completed) to help find things a little easier.
