In game alliances

How many people use in game alliances i don't mean secret or game long i just mean for a couple of turns to gain a bonus or to attack a much stronger player. I personally hardly ever use it i think i have done it 3 times in my time on CC and they were both when i was trying to take out a stronger player. I haven't used one in about 3 months and i highly doubt i ever will again.

So i was just wondering what your thoughts are on it and weather or not you make alliances. :)

I never do it, unless 1 player is winning, and we can still stop him by working together.. then it sometimes happens that I win the game in the end lol

Both 'spelled' and 'spelt' are correct spellings of the past tense of 'to spell'.

Alliances always have been, are at present and will always be in the future, for wusses, little boys, old ladies and genetically deficient lower forms of life.
Be a man. Win or lose on your own.

In the end there can only be one winner (at least in standard games), but what's to say you can't use diplomatic skills to ensure you're the winner and not someone else? It doesn't have to be an alliance of the kind where one player is attacked until he's out and then the next until only the players who formed the alliance are left. A simple NAP over a border is also a form of allying, same as an agreement not to get into an arms race which would force you to ignore the rest of the map. There are shades of grey, Greatwhite.

Sometimes a may do a Ceasefire over a boarder but never all over the map anymore.

yeah, i could see that happening. "boarders" are pretty valuable... i mean, a lodger who receives meals regularly at a fixed price, as in: To earn extra money, we took in a boarder, is a pretty valuable resource in this game...-0

p.s.-come on, give me a break on spelt. i grew up on a wheat farm! when someone says spelt, i just naturally assume it is about wheat, after i come out of my flashbacks and wake up in a cold sweat, hiding somewhere miles from my home...

I disagree... An alliance is a strategic move. When Done Properly... Not to mention That if a team made an alliance... then other players should do the same if they want to try and win the game. Its a Strategy and it works.... And what does it matter How you win.... As long as you win!
