Ive played 2 player games alot now and i think they are unfair
1)the other player takes oz first go and you have 3 newtral armies on siam
2)you carnt take any continents
3)you carnt cash in your cards till you got 5 then its to late
4)plus the dice are against you
5)you carnt kick lower rank player than you out, than you lose like 30 points

Ok... could be worse... they could have taken all (most of) NA, and had neutrals on iceland, venezuela and Kamtchaka? The game has positioning value hun. If they've got a heavy drop in australia they likely have a weak drop somewhere else. You should be able to capitalize on that.

I'm going to assume you mean because in 2 player games you are fighting so often you cant focus on fighting neutral 3s long because you are always on your toes? Didnt you just say a player could take Oz in the first round? :-s

This has happened to me in one of my games I believe lol. I dont think this is at all related to a 1-1 game outside of the fact that its go-go-go all the time. Isnt that the point to 1-1 games?

on the nose wrote:4)plus the dice are against you

Sorry hun lol I'm going to pretend I didnt read this. We are after all looking for valid reasons why 1-1s arent fair, dice can hate anyone anytime no?

Cant kick lower rank player than me out? In short, did you just tell me that 1-1 games are unfair because you lose to a lower rank player than yourself?

I really think your comments are not just directed to 1-1 but luck in general. Dice against you? Having to attack neutrals? Being pressured constantly and forced to do the same? Seems like alot of your problems deal with any aspect of the game regarding any # of players. I myself have played 3 one on one games and won all of them lol :D

Many players will agree that 1vs 1 games are decided in the first few rounds, the drop is random, and at times gives the game away to one player, or the other. Every once and awhile, b4 the first die is even rolled, the game is lost or won. Many times I have seen the dice take a sure victory away from an opponent or myself. This is simply the nature of dice on CC.
When I engage in a 1vs 1 game, I know that 50% of the time I will start in a bad spot , on the other hand 50% of the time I will start in a good position and sweep the board.
I say it is a game of chance, and the best way to minimize that chance, is to play multiple games on a simple map, with settings you are good with. If you are a decent player, in time the wins will out weigh the losses in 1vs1.
If I am not prepared to lose , I do not play. Simple.
:D :D 8)

first of all i would like to say to a couple ppl in this thread... Dont pick on ppl who didnt spell something correctly... i mean geez... thats juvenile behaviour of the highest degree.

now to the OP:

1) Unfortunately thats the nature of the classic map. might i suggest you try 1v1 on World 2.1? its big enough so that no player should have a hold on a continent and big enough so you can make a come back in a round or two.

2) I agree with that but 1v1 is all about bashing your opponent down till he only gets 3 armies/turn to deploy while you have 12 or something. just keep attacking until you do so... just be careful that you dont make yourself unnecessarily weak.

3) if you have to wait till round 5 you are unlucky thats it.

4) It happens. I suggest you install the dice analyzer and look at it after youve played a dozen or so games with it on. youll see that the dice ARE random.

5) 30 points... meh! Thats nothing dude. Just play smart and pray you get a decent drop thats all i can say here.

Yeah I don't really like 1 on 1. Dice are really big and like someone else said you can have a game lost at the start.
