It's kind of hard to plan very far in advance because things usually change.

I said never more than two, which is pretty much true. I tend to rely on reacting to where my opponents make mistakes or give me openings. Occasionally I'll be hoping that they move in a certain way to open certain things up for me, but rarely does that actually happen. I also tend to win games by making taking out several players in a turn, which I really can't plan out very far in advance. I just wait til I see the opening then go for it. Sometimes it backfires, but that's the risk I take.

saying never more than two... but then it depends on the game type, and i'd never say never

The dice have a way of altering even the best of preconceived plans.

I voted 11+ turns.

The moment I first see a Game, i figure out exactly where i think everybody's going to position themselves. once the second round is through, i make predictions about exactly how the game will progress right up to the finish, including estimates on how many rounds that will take. After that, I just continually alter my model of how i forsee things... it's not my fault my predictions are usualy horibly out of whack.

I mostly only plan ahead when I'm in a position where it can take a few rounds to clean up the board of opposition. Otherwise I usually rely on intuition backed up by experience and reason, it has worked well so far, top100 without playing massive amounts of teamgames against inexperienced opponents or spending hours in front of the screen in order to get that extra bonus in a freestyle game before someone breaks my horribly underdefended continents.

i only have like 1850pts, i don't know... depends on the game and how the dice are going. i mostly play doubles. we may set an objective like passing to get someone on a bonus, and then holding the bonus, but i don't think you can plan very far in advance, unless it is the end game... anyway, i guess we have a team concept, but not a plan... interesting question, but you do need the "i make stuff up as i go."-0

p.s.-if you are playing carinswk you have to always keep in the back of your mind that he might miss a turn to change the game play on his map that you are kicking his ass on, not tell you, then make a comeback on your team as sit there wondering what the hell happened to the game... YEAH!!! I'M STILL HARPING ON THAT!!!
