Same time play for team games

For example - 1540259

Quads freestyle game, one team manages to be online at the same time to make their moves and co-ordinate their attacks.

To me this makes perfect sense, you are after all working as a team, however ive found others think of this as lame or cheating.

Interested to know what folks think.....................

It's been brought up many times, but my answer will always remain that it's common sense to play as a team...if lack didn't mean for it to be this way, he would have made it so only one teammate can go at a time, although the turns for all of them is open (ie all players can take their turn, unless one of their teammates is taking their's at that exact time).

Common sense

Who cares what they think..It is far from cheating..Why else would they make it freestyle? Supposedly to make the game move on faster..It's ideal to all go at once however i can see how this would seem like a cheap tactic but this game is played to be won not for fun...I would create a team and all go at once

Yea f*ck that dude. I'm on his ignore list because when he lost he threw a shit fit and said that we were the worst players he had ever played with... if so why did he lose? anyway if everyone could add extrtabasco to their ignore list that would be great

oh god...as if the chat in that game isnt long enough...

xtra doesnt like same timers...he lets players know, and puts on ignore so he doesnt have to play again... he loves freestyle, but hats same timers... technically him not wanting to play that way is fine... not to say he sends a telegram with flowers when he lets you know his thoughts on the subject... :D

myself, i could care less... i dont play that way, but i have in games, especially when i first started at CC... i always know its a risk, and if the other team does it, ill pm my partners to let them know we are in trouble...

anyways... it really isnt cheating per se...much like alliances, some will find them wrong, others see nothing wrong with them...

you guys cant take that as seriously as you are though.... he just lets all players know they cant join his games if they synchronize every move...

ive seen this conversation, more times than necessary... all you can do is accept it, play out the game, and not play against him anymore...

in any case, gl in the game... we have some work to do

:(

some would say that if they dont like alliances they shouldnt play risk, and that they are practically cheating

he doesnt handle these very well at all, but there is nothing wrong against putting teams that synchronize on his ignore list simply because he doesnt like that kind of play....

many put him on their ignore list, because they dont like his in your face, adversarial chat that is well... possible to see from time to time

Its very easy to target xtra here, because he is very adversarial when he wants to be... but arguing the point on the subject itself.... he isnt wrong or right. He prefers not to play that way. If he could simply say.. guys, just so you know, i dont play teams that synchronize, so this will be the last one... that would have been the end of it... but...that doesnt usually happen unfortunately

I have no problem with players that synchronize... ill counter with whatever i have to to win, but it doesnt bother me that he refuses to play those players out of choice, anymore than it bothers me who anyone has on their ignore list... even if im on it, i could care less, because id much rather not be in a game with someone that doesnt want me in there.

The same argument has been made over and over... the double turn was the other problem people had with freestyle, and i hated it myself, so i played very few freestyle games. But if someone used it on me, id be sure to use it back. Some people thought it was fair game, others didnt... but you cant blame those that hate double turns for ignoring those that use it...

Im not defending xtra here, because he really is over the top in the chat. The only point here is that its his right to play who he wants, as is all of our rights. As i suggested in that game several times, you have to let it drop, and just play it out. You cant beat him at this, because he does not care in any way what you, me, or anyone has to say. He is however very good at the game, and he chooses tough games to play, so i join many of them, and usually do very well, depending upon the third recruit. He never picks his team, and lets almost anyone join him. Its a tough way to win as much as he usually does. In any case, argue it all you want, but right or wrong just doesn't matter.

The only winning move is not to play.

Trust me.

:D

As always fitz, very nicely said. My purpose of posting this was not to have a go at xtra (done that in game) it is simply to see other peoples opinions on the subject.

Well said Fitz! I wasn't trying to have a go at him, and I don't really care that he does that. To me, it's just how he goes about it. He was just the first one that came to mind, although I have played many more that are the same way.

If they just said that I'm going on ignore and they don't like teams that play as a team, that would be fine. The only part that upsets me is that the people who are die-hard "it's cheating to play like that" always whine about it the whole game.

he doesnt whine about it the whole game... he just counters the players that disagree... and since there is no way for the parties to ever agree, all that is left is to stop an play the game... arguing that they shouldnt go on ignore is pointless... i post this in every game this happens in... sometimes it ends it sometimes it doesnt... but in the end...it is always a complete waste of time
:D

I don't really care to much on the subject, because I understand that the game settings allow for it, so I can't consider it cheating, but I will say that I cannot condone such tactics, as I just think that it gives a distinct advantage, which can be really unfair at times.

Anyone that says it's cheating... just don't play freestlye.

Anyone that joins a freestyle team game should expect this, as it is what any well oiled team will do.

Stop whining.

And for the record I NEVER play these types of games because I know my chances of winning are slim to none because I don't have a team to coordinate with.

there are a number of players that accuse same time players of cheating, not just xtra, 3Asefa, codeblue, to name a couple. See also, 1574403, for example. I get tired of the same crappy whiney accusations whenever the other team starts to lose. So, I quote the rule which specifically permits simultaneous play.

I honestly don't see how it can be considered cheating when it rule permits it. If people don't like simultaneous play, they should play sequential. Ironically, xtra seems to play nothing but freestyle-team.

I don't mind being ignored. xtra and his ilk are on my ignore... I don't want to be in a game w/others that think I cheat.

I don't take it that seriously, we are afterall taking about games. I do find it offensive to be accused of cheating. That is why I refer the misguided to the rules.

For me, same time playing is just good strategy. In fact, in an unlimited reinforcement game, it allows for the movement of armies that is otherwise unavailable in risk. It requires a much higher level of strategic coordination to do this than to go one at a time. My teammates and I generally use skype to confer about our moves.

I really do not understand the sour grapes from those who dislike this concept, and who lose because they are unable or unwilling to embrace it.

Why dont they just play standard games and not freestyle???
