stalemate/offer draw button?

Probably posted before - I'm in hour 4 of a speed game against two other opponents - it's evenly matched at this point, anyone who wins would be completely pulling it out with luck. It's been a well fought grudge match all the way, and to be honest, nobody deserves to lose this.

Has the concept of an offer draw/stalemate button ever been discussed? Obviously there couldn't be any positive points awarded or else it would be exploited, so everyone would get a net zero - but I'd take the net zero and I think so would these guys and just say "gg"

I lost early in that game. And i agree. Some Speed games can take a wrong trun and last for many hours. It was unbarable watching armies decrease, increase the decrease.
But ya, You have a great idea :D

Maybe a -10 or -15 to encourage combatants to quit pussyfooting around
and go for it?

I suppose you could offer 1 point to everyone who draws as long as you limit the number of stalemates an account can use over a certain amount of time - like twice a week or something. Obviously no one's going to take the time to make sure they get two draws a week in for two measly points.

Sooner or later every game ends.

Option to turn Speed game into a casual game (24hrs) would solve the problem.

Why should you get ANY points from a draw???

If anything a draw would involve NO exchange of points... or an even exchange of the points lost by people who have previously been knocked out.

Though.. if this is a vote... I think it's a bad idea.

Fight till the death.

(or till someone HAS to go in real-life and then loses)

I also think YOU should lose 250 points just for making the suggestion!

:)

lol

yeah I like the idea of turning the speed game into a regular game. The entire suggestion is because when you set aside an hour for a speed game and it turns into 3-4 because of extremely weird circumstances, it's not fair that whoever has an obligation to leave first should necessarily lose. It's just against the spirit of compeition and makes the game worse for everyone. Especially when one guy just gets fed up and suicides into someone else.

If it were possible to make that change... assuming you got ALL players to agree... that would seem better than a "draw".

Where I grew up... calling a draw was akin to quitting!

the way I see it, I think the option of surrender should be there. THAT DOES NOT MEAN YOU HAVE TO ACCEPT THE SURRENDER, it just means if everyone agrees to it, then there is no exchange of points. It sounds fair to have the option, incase everyone agrees that the game should end. This could apply to 24 hour games as well, for those ones that go on for over a month (very fun).

I am just saying, the option should be there, but it would not be used unless every player wants it.

if you don't like the draw, then you would not have to agree to it, and the game would continue

You are correct. I don't have to agree to it.

Nor do I agree with the idea.

How about calling it Seppuku?

Everyone who agrees to it loses points.

(i.e. hari-kari... ritual suicide)

In America we used to call it "saying Uncle".
