how many would play in a triples tourney if one was created out of curiosity?

and what 3 would be on your team?

trying to see if there is enough interest to ever start one up soon? if so then we can put this in tournaments listings if i can find an organizer who has time, may be worth there while to do.

Plenty of people would play in a Triples Tournament if you just go and start one Blitz. Problem is, you probably don't want to play with 90% of my tournament regulars.

well what is wrong with creating one for players around 1800 plus or something?

there would not be enough?

i think a lot would enter it

i mean why not run a few tourneys? one for scores under 1800 and another for over 1800, run 2?

Go for it. AndrewB has set up Captains only tournaments before, so I don't see why you couldn't do one for 1800+ players as well. You don't need to set up two. There are plenty of tournaments to go around.

If you want to have a triples tournament with the upper ranks then just mosey on over to the Create/Join a Tournament Forum and set one up.

i hardly call 1800 plus upper ranks

i would only call players over 3000 that, i mean there is like almost 1000 players on here 1800 score and higher bro

In the tournament world 1800+ is certainly considered upper ranks my friend.

I have plenty of players who play in my tournaments that are in the 2000 point range, but a vast majority of the tournament regulars hover somewhere in the 1100-1700 range most of the time. At least that is what I have noticed.

Sometimes with the doubles and triples tournaments that get announced you will find more of the high-rankers signing up, but not in waves by any means.

If you want to learn a little more about how the tournaments work, browse through the tournament forums, read through a few threads to see how things are done and you'll get the hang of it pretty quick. If you would like to start a triples tournament yourself and need any help with getting it off the ground, just let me know and I'll help however I can.

As for interest, it will certainly be there, that i can promise you. All you have to do is announce it and they will show up.

I think the reason that the reason that not many high ranked players play in tournies is cause you cant choose who you play with so they are afraid of losing to a low rank.

i would probably put together a triples team for an 1800+ tournament, the reason i dont usually play tournaments is because i usually get suicided by some douche in round 4. when there are formidable opponents, i think alot more higher ranked folks would play.

I think you would be surprised at how formidable some of the 1400 point tournament regulars are. Especially in the bigger tournaments where one game isn't the entire picture.

well, i am not sure this is for sure going to happen yet, just asking out of curiosity, cause if there is enough interested i can pm some people and see if i can get one started, i dont know how, but i may be able to get some help.
