Doubles... triples... etc

Postby CryWolf on Sat Dec 22, 2007 11:04 am

I just want to know all the differences between a doubles game (or triples or quadruples) and a regular game. Obviously, there are teams, but what specifically changes about the game play? I was playing a doubles game, and I see someone has 5 people on a territory before they have even played?!?!

Some questions:
1. What if you and your ally/allies collectively hold a continent?
2. Do your allies benefit from you holding a continent?
3. If you lose and your ally wins the game, do you still get points?

1. Nothing happens if you and your allies collectively hold a continent, one person only must hold it to gain a bonus
2. Your allies do benefit from you holding a continent, as the team then gets more armies
3. Yes, you still gets points. Points are awarded to every member of the surviving team, no matter how many survivors there are on that team. The points are divided equally among the members of the team.

Another important point of team play is that you can deploy and fortify to your teammates territory, but you cannot fortify through your teamates. For example, on the classic map, if you own Western Austrailia, and your teammate owns Indonesia and Siam, you may fortify your armies to Indonesia, but not Siam. That would explain why you saw someone with 5 on a territory before they even played.
