what happens when he begins his next turn?
does he get 3 armies (africa)bonus for the turn he missed and when he held africa + territorie bonus for both turns or he just gets 3 armies for territories he holds at the moment doubled for the missed turn?

He'll only get doubled armies for what he currently holds when he begins his turn. So you did a good job in breaking him!
