for example in a 4 player game with fog, i will probably go by the land under the cover of fog if i know nobody is in borun.

or let's say it's a 6p adjacent fortif game. i might slowly sneak via land and when the player in borun departs via duht to attack something else i'll take his castle. by the time he gets back i will have enough troops to defend it.

also in a fog assassin. if i know my target is there i'll definitely go by land and avoid being seen by others.

How about a 4 doubles freestyle player game where you have to grab the castle first round, no fog?

don't grab the castle first round. let the other team go for it and then with troops combined from your team go take out the opponent

What if an opponent is there?

I don't think firth wants an overall game strategy, he simply wants to know that if you're going for a 1st round kill, should the guy with 19 armies in Borun attack via ports to Aoria, or go by land? Which has better odds?

if it's about odds then clearly the docks.

19v3,2,4,5,3,3 = 26% (land)
19v6,5,3,3 = 54% (ports)

It should be pretty clear that it is easier to go through one territory with 6 instead of three with 3,2,4.
Not to mention you get one more village if you take the ports path.

*edit* I did it backwards, but the numbers work out almost exactly the same.

Some people just sit and wait for you to break into your port and then overwhelm your army that's coming at them. I hate that.

thats why u go in there with enuf troops...count them in the game log
