I detect a patern. What happens is that new players come, lose a few games, and then stop playing. When they lose points and then leave, this puts more points into the field for the active players. As time goes by, the ranks that are hard to attain now will become easier and easier get. Someday, there will be as many field marshalls as there are currently majors (I hope when we get to that point that some higher ranks are created... or a new ranking system). Someday, captains will be considered ok, but not that gfeat.

This pattern happens at almost every website with a ranking system.

People have been talking about inflation since the start of CC. I think he was referring to the fact that when he started (and near to when I started) People were talking about the same thing but with captains instead of brigadiers!

Never happen, still to hard to maintain a rank that high, more players won't change that.

lol, so there is this invisible keeping people down... at least below the rank of major. I'll tell you what, I'll break that wall. Almost a Luitenant now... Give me a few more months!

point inflation is checked by the scoring system at around about the 2300 mark, this will increase over time but only very gradually. the amount of captains and majors is proportional to the additional members i think, if more join then in that bunch more good players are bound to be found.. but it will take several years before 3k becomes the standard quality norm.

I miss the old ranking system

I'm still trying to get out of being a cook.

I have heard this for over 6 months now and there has only been a slight change, so will take longer than you think

And you were a major at 2k and a colonel at 2500 I think. I spent little time being a Sarge and a Lieutenant, I think was already in the captains range before I had the games necessary for reaching Lieutenant, though only 1 or 2 games were missing.

I was a major, about 20 points from Colonel... Next day, the system changed! So mad, was so close to colonel... lol...

Of course it will take a long time for the top scores to increase, but increase they shall! (They have since the dawn of CC and continue to this day).

Ignoring the huge blip in the past that was Blitz's absurdly high score, the scores at the top have consistently risen. Not fast mind you, but the inflation will always be there. Don't believe me? Here's a taste of the data:

I had just got my colonel's crown and so proud of it i was, when overnight it was stolen from me . Ever since I've been battling hard to get it back.

Yes but Sully we know this,what we are saying is that there is a wall between Captain and Major. How about comparible stats for numbers 20 + 50 ?
