I'm involved in a game in which one player issued a generally query in the Chat Log, asking if I own 3 particular territories. Is this considered cheating, poor etiquette, or totally allowable?

some see it as ok some see it as not ok so i would ask the players in your game first

If it were me I'd list all the territories of his that I knew about as a response. With army counts.
Yes, this might allow smart people to figure out some of yours as well, but who cares at that point?
Thanks for weighing in!

I don't see a problem with asking or even telling the others if they haven't asked. It's almost as much a game of influencing your opponents and their behaviour as of deploying and attacking intelligently, and in FoW games the first aspect becomes even more important.
