The most honorable way to the top

Everyone complains about people getting to the top by cheap tactics or picking on noobs. I was wondering what you all thought was the most respectful, and honorable way to the top. I'm trying to get there by 1v1's and teams. I think the most skilled way is World 2.1, seq, adjacent, no cards. But that's just me.

That would take a lot of skill to do it that way. More skill than I possess...

its not taking advantage of noobs. they are the ones that try to take advantage of you by going into a game they have no idea how to play hoping they get lucky

I have a question for you, if you don't mind answering :) What if I play with game settings that only "n00bs" play? And I like that game setting? Should I stop playing just because it's leading me to the top though I enjoy it the most in this site?

that won't lead you to the top, that is a good way to get a huge chunk of your 1880pts taken away by a bunch of question marks and white bread (i still don't believe that is a chef hat)...-0

First, it was hypothetical. Secondly, what is the top for you? Thirdly, I didn't ask it from you :P Forthly, is major top enough or not yet top? And anyway, can anybody explain what's top? Top 3? Top 5? Top 10? Top first page?

um, you put up a question in a forum and only wanted specific people to agree with you? if it wasn't for everyone, then why not just PM the people you want to ask, since it wasn't for ME specifically. and furthermore, there is no such word as FORTHLY... why don't you go to the scoreboard and figure out what "the top" is. i would assume by TOP you mean NUMBER ONE as in the CONQUEROR. you said THE TOP, not "what do you consider to be a pretty good rank for an above average player." don't ask questions in the forum if you don't want RANDOM people to answer them.-0

You are annoying and you really need to learn to quote ;) Plus, there was a :P behind the third point so.. make your conclusions if you are capable :P
I know what top is for me. I wanted to know what it is for others.
And I never said that I want anybody to agree with me. I would be embarassed if a person like you would agree with me.

The only point in being at the top is so that you can make someone else be on the bottom.

apparently, when you live in a wonderful place like estonia, you kind of learn to settle for things in life... #1 isn't the top...

personally, I dont think there is a correct way. As long as your not a multi using more than 1 or account or a multi being permitted to use more than 1 account because you claim that its another friend or relative playing.

what I have found, is many players feel it must be seq/esc/6 player games against players over 3,000 points only. any other option does not seem to be OK. that includes:

freestyle
doubles
triples
1 vs 1's
players under 3,000 points
games with less than 6 players
speed games
fog games
flate rate
no cards
and whatever else you can think of

if you selected any of those options, it seems than your sore is "tainted". I feel thats what is very unique about this site. There are many options to choose from and im going to continue to play the options that I enjoy.

it is and I have enjoyed the game we recently been playing. They are hard as hell. Everyone always have their armies deployed properly and its difficult to figure out which player to try and eliminate. Im just stating that in the past, I take grief for playing any other option but for those games. Honestly, I dont prefer the 6 player standard games but dont mind playing a few at a time.

everything around here is "you're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't!" if i put out all public games and gain points i'm a noob hunter......if i play all private games with friends i'm considered a snob and too scared to challenge low ranks....if i get my points from any other way than the way you get them than I am, as JR said, "tainted" ....the best way to the top is to just play, meet other players, have fun, find the games you really enjoy playing and if getting points and playing games is what you like doing.....ENJOY! if the social concept has you aroused? then ENJOY! Like making maps? ENJOY! I don't know how to say it any more plain....do what you enjoy doing....and if that means getting points and trying to get to the top.....then ENJOY! and don't give a flying crap what someone else thinks about it....then it truly becomes ENJOYABLE!

the most honorable way is to not cheat or abuse. anything else is just pure speculation. a high ranker playing freestyle against noobs because they have no idea how freestyle works is not illegal but i wouldn't do it. a guy that plays only triples with his same 2 partners is again perfectly legal but again i wouldn't do it.

if i won't do it it doesn't mean it is wrong it just means it doesn't suit my taste. i want games to be challenging and i enjoy more losing a 6p standard game vs colonels and majors than winning a triples game against new recruits. but that's just me.

i guess the most honorable way of reaching the top is when everybody agrees with your means of getting there. if you don't leave people upset or disappointed then you've don the right thing. not many players that have reached the top can really say they haven't upset anybody.

just like any sport, players bitch about what they cant achieve. instead of saying GG after a loss, they sit back and find out reasons why they lost instead of sucking it up and admitting they lost to a better player.

you pretty much flamed my response to a T. Of course everyone knows I set up 100's of public games which allows anyone to join and most cases it is a low ranked player under 2,000 points. I have no control over that and I have no interest in setting up 100's of games in private and than sending out god who knows endless of PM's to have players join. I dont use the same 2 players on my team and I dont want the same 3 players opposing me in 100 games as well.

as for 1 vs 1's- I am going to filter it down to freestyle/esc. and if only players under 1500 have games set up, than that is what im going to continue to play. Im not setting up 100's of 1 vs 1's and sending out PM's just to make Dim happy.

im going to continue to play ALL RANKS, not just players over 3,000 points to make Dim happy.

im going to continue to play very limited 6 player singles games with a selcet few players because that is what I want, not to make Dim happy.

CC is not about Dim and what he feels everyone should play and his non stop rants on how everyone plays their games here and trying to get everything modified to fit his beliefs. And honestly, I dont care about other games you have played on other sites and how they ran it there. It is about the player that paid to play here and what they want to play without being harrassed by a noob that has no idea himself how to play.

mate you have an obsession with me. i haven't said anything about you in that post
do you really think i care about you? i don't give a rotten egg on what you do here. you paid 20$ to play here and it's your right to do what you want as long as it is legal. honestly, you should go get a beer with your friends (if you have any) go shag you girl (if you have one) and stop twisting my words.

plain and simple i didn't make a single reference to you in that entire post and furthermore read the bolded and enlarged part. if i don't like it it doesn't mean it is wrong it just means i don't like it. chill and get a life, the world doesn't revolve around you and my posts aren't about you. if i say something about you then you can be sure i'll include your name. remember 3 words: beer, shag, chill.

why don't you try talking to him? sending a pm can do wonders, ask him nicely and maybe he'll stop.
i was trying to set-up a few games with benjikat and masli kept joining, i asked him to stop for a second and allow benjikat to join and he agreed. then i set up some games with masli. no harm no problems no need for ignore.
