ok i got a question
whenever an experienced player gives the noob some advice he tells the noob NOT to play freestyle. Why is that? I mean, when i signed up i ONLY played freestyle seeing as u had to wait less. Sure, i didnt get off on a good start, but i got better. What is so bad about freestyle?

Thx

Freestyle gives an unfair advantage to players who are at the computer 24/7 and can move first in every round. It sucks unless you like setting your alarm to wake up at 4 am to move. (I can't believe I did that once when I was a n00b.)

Then again freestyle did produce such classics as "Diamond Girl" and "Lookout Weekend".....

*Wonders if anyone has any idea what I'm talking about.*

freestyle require more "watch the time", it is hard for new players to compete with experienced players who play the right move at the right time.

The frightening thing is that my first thought was "I've never heard of those players, this must be some sort of CC inside joke from before my time," then I saw the link and died a little inside. :D

I enjoy freestyle even though there are a few players who hover online 24/7. There are not that many. I like the unpredictability of esc free. Ive been beaten by ? marks and cadets but overall I've risen up 2 steps forward 1 step back. The thing i dont like is the slow inevitable death in no cards and sometimes in flat rate when you know you are fighting a losing battle.

I like freestyle the most. Keeps games moving and puts more factors into play for the win.

Dunno what the 24/7 thing is about, I've just won 4 straight FS doubles games where I've had to miss a turn and lose bonuses because my partner wasn't on.

Ive played sometimes when your opponent is on-line and cashes a set while your playing and puts it where it hurts you. Its perfectly legal and in no way sneaky, its just part of freestyle.
