Sig pictures

Postby graeme89 on Fri Nov 16, 2007 9:19 pm

Can anyone tell me how to put a picture in my sig, I have tried using the same method as putting a picture in a post ( from Hecters stickky ) but didn't work. Any advice appreciated.

Go to your profile and go to your sig box. Go down to the option buttons underneath, and set the "Always include signature in posts" to yes. If that doesn't work, try and post it here, I'll see what I can do...

yep, I had this same problem and I couldn't figure it out because I didn't understand what was being talked about, so I figured that a visual aid would help answer any questions.

two possible reason you are not using image tags (the yokes at either side of xxxxxx below)

[img]xxxxxx[/img]

or

your sig becomes too big - cc has a sig size limit you should check this with a mod.
Don't now why people on here don't like being cooks, remember under siege: A former SEAL, now cook, is the only person who can stop a gang of terrorists when they sieze control of a US Navy battleship.

Right. So if for example you want the xig sig, modified by hecter not to take up so much size:

Image

You would copy in the following:

Code: Select all
[img]http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z138/hecter2770/xigbruteslow-1.gif[/img]

Hope this helps.

Did you upload the pic to a picture hosting site such as photobucket.com?

Unfortunately, you can't use those pictures due to having to specify the size, something img tags don't support.

However, if you save the picture and upload it to photobucket or something similar, you can then use it by specifying the img url there.

Thats easy it's just a pain because for every pic you want to post you have to upload it there.

You do have to sign up for it though

In case that wasn't clear:
You have put a .html link in your signature. That isn't an image format, and thus it's not going to work.

See? It has to be an image format (.jpg, .gif, .png, ect.), so to do that, just (on Firefox, at least) right click it (control click on a mac) and select "Copy Image Location" and it will automatically copy it, then just paste it into your sig with the tags. So, right click the rug you want to have in your sig, select "Copy Image Locations", and then paste that in between image tags. Here it is with the first rug:
Code: Select all
[img]http://www.bearskin-rugs.com/images/bear11-049.jpg[/img]

Unfortunately, the site has formated it in such a way that prevents you from doing that with anything but the largest image. I recommend if you want that in your sig to upload it to photobucket and resize it there, or in an image editing program and THEN upload it to photobucket. You're a mod, you should know the size restrictions on signatures ;)

PS it's 150x600 pixels... Just right click it on firefox and select properties. It'll tell you the size...
