Recourse for unfounded cheating acccusations?

I am relatively new to CC and I've had a great time so far.

Yesterday, I started a game in which I and another player were accused of cheating (first, by speculating that we were the same person, then that we had some secret alliance) it was a totally unfounded accusation and only gained momentum because myself and the other player accused were not reading the chat - we were playing the game and kicking some major ass.

To make a long story short, our opponents will not drop it - even when it was clearly untrue - they continue to feel justified in their accusations and have turned an entertaining, tactically interesting game into a vindictive pissing match that has nearly ruined my enjoyment of CC - just days after becoming a premium member.

My question: what defense does an honest, fair player have when falsely accused of cheating? what right do these players have to ruin the game for others in this way? what recourse do I have (other than negative feedback) to report them?
clearly, cheaters are investigated and punished or cleared - but what about those who are unfairly accused by zealot losers - are they investigated as well??

They should post a thread in the cheating forum, were qualified people will check this game up and clear you, if you are really not lieing.

Just ignore what they are saying and play the game. It's the only solution. If they are beeing offending, giving a Negative feedback for beeing rude is always an option.

But for having a doubt if someone is cheating or not.....Bit harder.

Best way is to ignore them.

you should post the thread in cheating and abuse yourself, and clear your own name. also, add to ignore list, and leave neg feedback. it will always happen from time to time. dont let some jerk ruin the game for ya.

Yes, although from the looks of the game chat your opponents withdrew their accusations against you. Perhaps you should just let it go?

Agreed with those 2.

Also, there is some 1-1 borders that are questionable.

Enough already

I think you carried the issue too far. The two players that speculated about the secret alliance apologized to you and admitted that they were wrong, but you wouldn't let it go. You kept bringing it up over and over again.

point of order - I only responded to their accusations and them bringing it up again and again.

I posted this example in the form because I don't think it is acceptable for players to make unfounded cheating accusations. It ruins the game for everyone. I would think some folks would agree and that there might be recourse. Alas, I am apparently wrong.

So, yes, the game is over.
Moving on.

sounds like you came across: (A.) someone who has a hard time believing that they can be beaten fairly. Or (B) a psychological ploy to throw your game off.
Whatever the reason for their accusations, I suggest that if you are truly playing by the rules , just get on with the glory of battle and move on to the next game. CHEERS ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! :D :D 8)
