Minimizing the Fog

What are the best sets of territories for minimizing the number you can't see? For example, on Classic, if you have Ontario, East Africa, China, Kamchatka, Northern Europe, Peru/Brazil, and New Guinea/West Australia, then the only places you can't see are Iceland and Central America, so you see 40 with 7 territories. Can you do better? What about other maps?

I guess the best thing would not to waste that many armies on only seeing the board.

The best is to re-cap what your opponents have done and try to think who would be where doing what.

Use your armies to build up a force/take the whole board.

If you're wasting them to cut the fog, you will be taken out.

That's what I think. But since it's so new, no one really know..

Here is where the fact that almost every continent has a different bonus size helps. The game indicates how many bonus armies someone receives for holding ?

If you know this, then you know who has a decent number of troops over in that area. You don't necessarily need to amass a huge number of troops in an area mostly surrounded by ones - cause someone might not give you the opening to use those troops. But, it is nice to suddenly have a surprise attack.

I've only played 1 FoW game and I basically concentrated on getting a small bonus area. I only left a few men there, everyone thought I had a lot and didn't attack until they had amassed enough troops to take it. Of course, by then I had built up somewhere else and hit them with the BIG bonus.

I don't like any game options that require me to THINK even more.

Then taking all the screen shots, comparing them and the log.. Yawn.

Strange though: Why would you see how many cards everyone has in Fog mode? That would really kill it off for Escalating.
