Game 1014033- interrupted, why should anyone lose points?

I understand that site maintenance has to happen, but it interrupted a speed game between me and a friend of mine and someone I never played before. When the site came back up the strongest player had given up, and never showed back up. Who can blame him?
This gave me a completely unfair advantage and I didn't want to press it against an honorable opponent. We both stopped playing altogether.
If I have to lose points so be it but it is a little unfair. I'm unaware that there was maintenance scheduled, maybe it was posted, maybe not. I guess I don't care. But really, if maintenance is known to be scheduled, why would you let anyone start a speed game?

I shouldn't sound harsh. You run a great site, overall- you put a lot of yourself into it and it shows, it's got a great family atmosphere here. It was just frustrating, and I didn't know what to do. And it sucks to lose like that!

If it's not last minute, we'll do our best to give everyone a heads up, but sometimes human error or emergencies mean things dont always go according to plan.
Sorry your game got messed up, hopefully it wont happen again.
Many apologies again, to anyone who was effected.
Have a good one, may your day be...up

Okay, I was wrong about who would lose even- I ended up winning. I don't want that! Losing was bad enough but winning is intolerable. You must please give taranwanderer back whatever points he lost- he cares, I don't, help the man out! Don't make me lose to him on purpose or something.

Unexpected inconveniances happen, I don't think they can do anything about it.
You are probably not the only ones who were affected...Or may.
But anyway...Speed games should be casual RT's. That way, none of these problems would happen. Not as much at least.

I'll just throw a game to these guys. No harm done. Great site! Great games! I just feel stupid...
