First of all - good god! could they have made a map harder on the eyes than this one?

Okay, so i own G. Octavius boat, and I attack M. Antonius boat and conquer it from yellow player. It goes down to one army, that now becomes neutral? wtf? and I kept hitting the nuetral, and it kept telling me I've annihilated neutral player... yet someone it just stays neutral and i cannot move into that territory....

I've read over and over and over the instructions on the map, and I just don't get it! Neither does anyone else in the game.

Help?!

You can only bombard from large ship to large ship. You can take it over by going through an adjacent small ship/territory.

 It's called bombardment...that's supposed to happen.

The problem with that, is that "bonbardment" is not explained. When they say that you can only "bombard" a neighboring large ship, that doesn't sound like, ALL you can do is bombard (you can't move it), it sounds like, you just cannot hit a ship across the map - it has to be neighboring. They really did not make that distinction very clear at all.

Thanks for the feedback Shishy...the bombardment xml facility always turns the victim into a neutral army. In Actium, that's what the bombardment is designed to do, much the same as using the bombardment from AA batteries in Pearl Harbor on planes does...it turns them neutral.
You can never use a bombardment to occupy a territory.
That's why it's called bombardment.

In Actium, the 'destructions' do say that
large ships marked ^ can only bombard similarly marked ships but may board and conquer boardering small ships & vice versa.

That means that if large ships may board and conquer small ships, then the vice versa part means that you can board and conquer large ships from small ships.
In order to board and conquer M Antonius, you must own one of the small ships that borders M Antonius and attack and take over M Antonius from that small ship.
Hope this helps.

As for being hard on the eyes...try playing the large map...it has much more "eye space". The map was specifically designed llike this to reflect the number of boats in that battle.

Thanks for the explanation cairnswk... now it makes sense. However, there are NO OTHER maps on CC that do this (other than Pearl Harbor and this one), so I don't think it should be so readily assumed that I, or anyone else for that matter, would know what you mean by "bombardment". This is a sea battle, so I just assumed the maker of the map used that language go along with the theme.

Incidentally, I've played Pearl Harbor 2 or 3 times, and have never come across this in that game. Guess I just didn't know that you could attack the planes from anywhere but the bordering ship. And no else I've played with in that game ever attacked any planes I owned from any of the AA's either, so I guess they didn't know it either.

The whole notion of "bombardment" just was not explained or defined all that well.
