Doodle Earth

Postby decoulombe on Mon Oct 01, 2007 2:56 pm

I've played Doodle Earth a couple of times now. Does anybody think it's two quick, not enough spaces, etc. The last three games were some of the fastest ones I've ever played, like 5 minutes or something, and they wern't even speed games. Havn't played six player though I can imagine...

6 player assassins are best. I've finished one in the first round, playing second. For some bizarre reason, the player before me took one of my target's territories.

But of course, it's meant to be fast. Play it freestyle for an amazing game.

With Doodle Earth, its almost not necessary for speed games....lol

Depends what you're in the mood for. If you like a simple, quick game then it's great. If you like a true challenge you'll go for the more complex maps. I don't have a lot of time so I enjoy it.

i have mixed feelings on this map. on one hand it makes a great map for fast 1v1 games on the other hand it is totally based on luck.

because of the luck factor i have stopped playing it. i have 8 games on it 4 wins 4 losses. all were based on dice none on strategy. that's why i will never play it unfortunately. i have seen 1v1 on this map where a guy simply attacked with all his troops from round 1 a few lucky throws and the other guy was out in 3 rounds. no strategy no nothing just lucky dice.

it can be a fast way to gain or lose points but if you want hard fought battles where strategy prevails then stay away from it.

I've played that map 3 times, not once it lasted more then 3 rounds. All six player, 1 terminator 2 standard. It was chaos. More of a 'fun' map then for an actual game...

its good for 1v1s, The games are generally quite short (maybe 10 rounds) You get a few that are over by the third round and a few that go on for ages. Its simple though, which is refreshing after playing AoM
