Hi ;)

I'm new to this site, but otherwise i'm quite a veteran in Risk games :)

I just have one problem - i cannot get premium membership, because the damn PayPal doesn't like my creditcard :(

So, if there is some Latvians gamers here, can any of u 'gift' me the premium membership ? ^_^
That is, if u live in Latvia, i could return the money in cash ;) :)

Otherwise it looks pretty hard for me to get the premium, because i usually have problems with electronic money transactions... x_x

What kind of credit card are you using to try and pay for the premium membership?

I can't help you, but my mother's mother's parent's lived in Riga and I once met Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga and I intend to visit someday. :D

I intend to visit someday.

Then we could make a deal :P

Although, if u plan to visit after some years, don't forget that because of inflation those 20$ will be pretty worthless  USD exchange rate is already droping here, after a few years those 20$ will be like buying a chewing gum, especially, when keeping in mind the inflation here (one of the highest in EU)

So the deal wouldn't be in your favor, even if i keep the word (which i usually do)

But i'm always hoping on people with good hearts :P

Ok, i did it bit different way. I'll try to win the "Refer-A-Friend" competition.

I already sent few hundreds invites to my friends and also made a public call in some of the largest Latvian gamer discussion boards, where i have some authority, so i could send even more invites 8)

So, hopefuly, after hordes of fresh Latvian gamer recruits here, i'll get that damn premium membership :D

At least that way i'd save those 20 bucks

I've never heard of a Visa Elecktron, so I suppose that is the problem. It's nice to hear you've gone on a huge recruiting trip though, that will give us lots of nice new players!

It's not about card, it's about country. Paypal is very restrictive. If lack opens Moneybookers account, he'll get many new members from East Europe countries...

"Visa Electron" is a pretty standard card in Europe...

It's a bit like "Visa Delta" - but more controlled... i.e. for younger people or people who have abused their credit ratings!!! <- Barclays forced one on me when I cashed some cheques with my guarantee a few years ago when I was a stoodent!!!!

It is the equivalent of "Solo" as to "Switch"

Actually, we're going to offer an alternative to Paypal this month... I'll look into Moneybookers as well.

Those MoneyBookers ain't bit better either.

They just give me different error messege:
Verification deposit failed!

Btw, maybe some of u could suggest me some other type of new credit card that i could acquire ?

Though keep in mind, that i can only get a card which doesn't have requirements of steady official income, as i now in this moment don't have any official income, basically i officially count as an unemployed

So... Can i get a better card with my current official status ? Sugestions, anybody...

O yes, MoneyBookers is better. Actually, it is the best. It works with every country and has a very low provisions.

Semigall, if you have a wrong Visa card for MoneyBookers, you can take the right one. Even if you can't do that, you can find someone in your hometown who can do you a favor.
With Paypal and Neteller you're helpless. Nobody in your country can open an account...

Odd, because I'm pretty sure (read: 99.5% sure) that I paid for mine using a visa electron (comes with my current account from halifax).

Yeah, that was i was about to do, but that someone is offline all day, unfortunately x_x

Ok, i know, i know, "patience, young padawan"...

And maybe my card doesn't work because the bank where i got the card isn't very good... People say that bank is connected with russian mafia  And it sounds possible, at least rumours say that the debtors are gettin' beaten pretty badly

But i hate bureaucracy so much, so probably i will stick with the same bank 'till i will have to change it for some other reasons...

Heh, i convinced my cousin to help me in this matter, so now i do have the premium membership ^_^

Yet any Latvians could still post here, just so i'd know my countrymen here ;)
