D-Day: Omaha Beach! - WARNING

Postby Coleman on Sun Sep 30, 2007 4:43 pm

First off the gameplay works as intended.

There is an issue with the XML for D-Day that is making it not work with the BOB greasemonkey script. We are not sure what it could be but the moderators have been working on a solution. If you want to give figuring it out a shot the xml can be found in the topic in Final Forge. Not sure which page though.

For now, consider D-Day to be greasemonkey immune. So if you are used to depending on it you may have some trouble having to use your brain to figure out how many armies your enemies might be getting.

This map is not just Grease Monkey (GM) immune, it is highly anti-GM.

If you load the map with BOB running, you will see ... NOTHING

You can't see your armies. You can't see anyone else's armies.

I accidentally took a turn with BOB on and attacked blindly.

I then turned BOB off and viola - everything appeared. Yes, you need to count armies and territories on your own. You also have to be careful NOT to accidentally associate German territories with the RED player (as the names are written in red).

Well, we made it so they are the same and it still doesn't work, so that isn't it unfortunately jako.

In fact, I feel kind of dumb for thinking that was it now. Circus Maximus doesn't match it's title and it works. (The title for it is Circvs Maximvs)

As for the red numbers, there have been enough complaints that we are working on a solution. How long it takes depends on mibi, unless we can't get him, then it depends on me, someone that draws his drafts in paint.

outer beach bonus?

Postby V.I. on Sat Oct 06, 2007 11:48 am

I'm in the middle of a d-day game, and believe I held outer beach 916 last turn, though I didn't receive the 4 army bonus. What am I missing here? I've got them all, 916 1-8.

Here's the link if anyone is interested. http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=952863

Thanks.

I think the outer beaches are the slightly darker sand-brown areas to the left and right of the inner beach, which is a slightly lighter shade of sand-brown.

You are holding a lot of green territories that seem not to be worth any bonus at all.

Don't bother, D-Day has to be one of the worst conceived maps ever devised. If you hold the wrong combination of territories, you actually get docked armies.

That means that if you are unlucky, you could start your first round with only one additional army instead of the three army minimum.

I know you guys worked hard on it, but that map is a clusterfuck with or without Bob.

it was an ok map...though the red numbers made it slightly confusing & yet a tactical advantage in a weird way..I was playing a friend & he was mad cause he didn't know where my armies were in all that red...
The most important kind of freedom is to be what you really are. You trade in your reality for a role. You give up your ability to feel, and in exchange, put on a mask.
