WTF happened to CC?

Is it just me or is this site becoming a lag monster? That little attack/fortify option area has slowed my games down a lot.

I can honestly tell when I am going to win an attack when it comes down to 1 or 2 territories left. If it shows instant white dice then I lose and if it lags up for like 5 seconds or longer then I win.

It's pretty much been like this since the speed games have started. I don't know how anyone could play a speed game with this laggy ass shit happening though.

laggiest moments seem to be:

winning a territory
advancing troops
fortifying

There should be little (if any) lag now that AJAX is part of the site. Ive never had a lack problem except whrn lack had technical difficulties

I occasionally get lags as well, just what Molacole said. With AJAX turned on and everything, mm.

AJAX killed me. It took a whole minute to do anything. I turned it off and it plays fine.

Running AJAX hasn't caused me any lag at all.

I think its more my computer causing problems than the site - maybe you should check yours out

i shut off ajax and i am fine most of the time. I do get booted every once and awhile. Not sure if it is the site or my comp. Must say overall the site is fine .

I find CC has actually sped up since I joined. :D :D 8)

I do have the same problem except I have BOB script and haven't turned on Ajax. The lag is very slight on most maps. Might not be a site problem.

If you are running a current box it will like ajax better then not. If your system is outdated then the ajax may slow you down. This is not an issue of internet or site lag, it would be system lag on your end, unless lackattack is fiddling with something.

Or if you have dial-up and are using AJAX....
If I am at home, it lags like crazy w/ it enabled, but at work it's fine.
If I disable it, all is well

I would view that as outdated. Sorry you live that way.

Lol....I just live in the boonies, so too far away in the country to be able to have DSL or Cable, and I'm not home enough to reason paying for satellite.

So let me see if I have this right:

If you are feeling a little laggy, you should go AJAX off and hope that perks everything up.

However, if AJAXing off does not work, then using BOB to work around your AJAX frustration is the best solution.

Am I missing something?

AJAX lags on my end. I have a brand new laptop (a month and a half old) with some pretty good specs; I refuse to believe that the lag is from my box.

To be fair though I'm pretty sure it's my ISP. I'm stuck in a dorm so bandwidth is terrible. I usually don't log on to Facebook at all during the day because it always freezes up Firefox. Cyanide and Happiness lags like hell too. Most every other site works fine though, so I don't know. It's weird.

Cable. I edited my post with more after I considered the issue a bit more.

Try this http://bandwidth.com/tools/speedTest
Do the upload and download test. Not sure how much it would help, but would show you what you are actually getting for bandwidth....
It may help you decide if you aren't getting enough bandwidth, or if the internet connection is unstable. If the connection is as bad as you say, I bet that's the issue

I've done tests before. It varies significantly at different periods throughout the day. There have been times when my upload speed is like 2.5 times my download speed. It's weird. Sometimes I'll be going along my merry way even here in the forums and everything loads in a nap, but then I click on alink and it just randomly doesn't load at all. The Firefox "ZOMG we can't load the page" screen pops up. The worst part is that reloading or retrying doesn't work. I have to go back and reclick the link to get it to work. It's so bizarre.

Hm.....after careful consideration, I've decide that the fault lays with my internet....
