Speed Games. Do they start as soon as the last player joins?

I though it was a great idea to intoduce speed games to this site.
However, I was about to join as player 2 in a 4 player speed game but suddenly thought that if the 4th player joins while I haven't got access to my computer (like when I'm sleeping) then i would simply miss all my turns and lose.
Or is there a delay in being able to take your fist turn?

all speed games are canceled in 15 minutes after their creation if they aren't filled. so join and then wait 15 minutes. if by that time nobody joins the game disappears. if somebody joins and the game is full it starts immediately

which is annoying. If i can see i have a PM im clearly watching CC and will already know the game is full.
...but thats just my opinion

well some of us do more here than refresh our My Games page to see when the game fills.

ajax auto-refreshes, or is that only in game?
well I dont use it so I don't know
