Alliances

Why are they accepted? They just ruin this game even more than the unfair dice.....

becuase it is part of the game of risk. DIPLOMACY! alliances are good and they enhance, rather than ruin a game.

yeap.. it's part of the game and it adds to its complexity. Personally i try to steer clear of them as much as possible but certainly i will use unspoken alliances i.e won;t attack a weak player when one team or player is way out in front.

When i and my friends play the board game, prior to the start, we decide if it is a no alliance/border truce game.
maybe you could suggest it to other players in game chat or in the Callouts forum. before you start a game... if you get agreement from all players it could work.

Actually thats a good idea. You can also make private games and only play with other like-minded people.
