So then...is it alright that if you are playing a long intense game that one of the players is having problems with computer access, and he decides that it will be alright to suicide himself on the lower ranking players...so as the higher ranking player will be garunteed a win? And there for save his points from being lossed to the lower ranked players?

Please read game log in game 361773...SkyCaptain just made it to my ignore list!

This is going to turn into flame wars against you. A player can suicide if he wants. It isn't cheating or abuse. It does make him a jerk. You're new, but this probably isn't the right place to post your complaint.

2007-07-31 10:57:29 - guypicha: So - at the end of such a long game, u r just going to give the win to some random player?
2007-07-31 10:58:17 - guypicha: Ok - if that happens, I'll ofcourse try to get u banned
2007-07-31 10:58:34 - guypicha: from CC alltogether
2007-07-31 10:59:13 - guypicha: (I doubt I'll succeed, but try all rhe same)

LOL. Good luck. Jez... just suck it up cupcake and stop whining in the public forums. It happens. And so far the end of the world has not followed after a CC-suicide attack...

There's no rule against suiciding. You can leave feedback if you didn't like the way he played.

He's new? He joined months ago.

Not any abuse..but worthy of a neg and ignore list. Been talked off before, too..

Took a look at the page with Feedback left by DaGip.

You’re quite an angry little man, aren’t you?

DO NOT PLAY WITH ALECSANDRUIFTENE!!!!! DO NOT PLAY WITH THIS PLAYER IN ANY TYPE OF TEAM CAMPAIGN!!!! I REPEAT, DO NOT PLAY TEAMS WITH ALECSANDRUIFTENE!!!! DEADBEAT PLAYER!!!! NO SENSE OF TEAM GAME STRATEGY!!!! TRAITOR TO HIS TEAM!!!!

ABANDONED GAME!!! DO NOT PLAY WITH, WILL RUIN GAME FOR EVERYONE!!!!!

NOT A TEAM PLAYER!!!! NEVER EVEN SHOWED FOR HIS TURNS WHEN NEEDED BY HIS TEAM!!! DO NOT PLAY TEAM GAME WITH CAMQUAD!!! REPEAT...DO NOT PLAY TEAM GAME WITH CAMQUAD!!! TOTALLY NEVER SHOWED FOR ENTIRE GAME, PRIMARY TEAM LOSS CONSEQUENCE.

LOL. Made my eyes hurt when reading it. Seriously, if you just chill down a few notches and stop taking everything so personal, I’m sure your continued stay here at CC will be much more enjoyable.

Reading my feedback for other players

Well, it's good you read some of those...I only leave negs for those that really messed up the game for everyone...whether if I win or not. And I just left clear warnings for other players before they end up being disappointed like me...it seems like the only honorable thing to do. As for leaving SkyCaptain a neg...I don't think this instance deserves one...perhaps a neutral. And I have never had a problem with him before...so I am debating on whether I should ignore him or not. Probably not...but I will always keep this particular game in mind. I will cool my jets sometime next week I think... :x

It's good to see you've been able to calm a bit after this... after all, it's war! It's a bitter and bloody struggle to the end.

War by definition, is a vicious, no holds barred battle to death... like even the best, most expensive cigar it's always bitter at the end. 8)

Just so we are clear, there was nothing wrong with the negative feedback you left, totally your right to do. Although the all caps is a bit, disconcerting.

Well. He could have settled for a basic note stating that this and that person deadbeated on him in a team game. A couple of novels ending with a caps lock lines telling people to beware is - in my opinion - to overdo it. It's simply an arrogant and immature feedback to leave. So yes, there're a few things wrong with that feedback I would say.

The problem is that time when he manages to miss a few turns due to some unforseen event. If people notice he tends to pass shit like that on to others, they may be tempted to hand some back right at him.

I completely agree that SkyCaptain's behavior is deserving of negative feedback. He's already missed two turns. Instead of suiciding against the highest ranked player he should probably just miss his third turn and deadbeat.

The purpose of each game is to do one's best to emerge the victor. Any intentional action one takes to hand the game to someone else or not try his or her best to win is perverting the game, in my opinion. This is worthy of negative feedback.

There are very few cases where I think suiciding is ok, only one that I can think of really: if one player has been an obnoxious pain in the ass and in the gamechat the entire game.

Otherwise it gets a negative.

Skycaptain has also indicated he will suicide in one of my games as well. I dont like it, but at least he has given all of us enough notice to prepare our armies. I would rather he just deadbeat, but its his account and he can do what he wants......i guess.

All Caps

Probably right, all caps is quite annoying. And those games were some of my first I had played...I guess I got a little over excited. Will think about removing these negs in future. Thanks guys!

All caps

I spent sometime, and went over all the feedback I have ever left (something I have never done before). I realized that, yes...#1. CAPS ARE INCREDIBLY ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!! and #2. That most of those negs were from my earlier feedbacks. I withdrew most of them, except for one...and I withdrew even all my neutrals, except for one...But, in relation to the topic at hand regarding SkyCaptain's decision to suicide on us so that another higher ranked club member can win the game we are currently in; I believe that ignoring SkyCaptain is not the answer...as I really don't have a problem with playing him. We have our gripes from time to time...but that is nothing unusual. I have enjoyed playing him most of the time...I believe that neither shall I leave him a neg, though it might be befitting in this instance. The other player in which Sky plans on suiciding on might well leave a neg...but, as for me...I would rather keep Sky's and my games-manship in tact! I am still debating on whether I should leave a neutral feed or not...don't really think it wil do any good though. Thanks for your guys' ear!

LOL.

All in all, this situation is somewhat intriguing. The guy obviously wants to get out of his games. What is best then, suiciding or deadbeating? Seems like he's damned if he do, and damned if he don't. Ok, two guys here prefer him deadbeating, but what about the rest? Someone would be bound to hand out a neg. feedback for deadbeating if he walked down that path I guess.

I'd leave a negative for intentionally handing the game to another player to preserve your score.

Well,

I'm the other player in the game (that SkyCaptain intend to suacide on). In this game I had alot of firsts, but two things are certain:
1. Will leave a negative (first time ever).
2. Will put on ignore list.

As I c it, this kind of behaviour requires a ban of the player, not only a bash in forums. I usually don't get too emotional about the games I play (as can be seen from the conversation in the discussed game), but I must admit - SkyCaptain really got to me.
This game is played for more than a month. Thinking, rethinking manuevering, ... and in the end - that's it? A very bad end tone to a very interesting game.

Just my thoughts.

And for alstergren remark:

1. Do u really leave negative for deadbeats?
2. Will u leave a neg to deadbeat that inform of his intention?

I personally will answer on both "no".

QFT!

And to the guy who said what's best between suiciding and deadbeating:

Suiciding against other players equally, instead of singleling a player out, is much better than suiciding against a single player.
