Breaking a pact. What to do? [Answered]

Just a question.

A player in one of my games openly broke a pact and attacked me. We had agreed 3 rounds and he attacked before the end of that.

Other players in the game said he was completely out of order. What can I do about this.

Just add to Ignore List and deal with it I guess.

But extremely annoying in terms of points and rank etc.

you could give him negative feedback or something, but it's pretty much just tough luck for you. not much you can do at this point.

I think there are two things you could do to avoid this again besides putting them on your ignore list.
1.DON'T MAKE ANY PACTS.
2.Join a team game but make sure you check that your partners are not losers who deadbeats/attacks own teammate(s)/acts rude/loses on purpose but not deadbeating.

That’s one way to look at it, finding it to be annoying.

Another way to look at it is more long-term. You learned a valuable lesson early on here on CC – do not trust a player you do not know and do not play with in a team game.

It’s a game. And when using diplomacy in the game, remember that diplomacy is merely a way to win. Breaking an alliance is as big part of the game as entering into one.

Why would you leave feedback? You were the one who trusted an unknown player. Your bad, not his.

Take it on the chin ... Diplomacy is merely a tool to victory, and breaking an agreement can give you a large strategic advantage at the cost of losing any credibility in other agreements.

I never make pacts in singles games because I know perfectly well that one of us is likely going to want to break it ... even in the case of a temporary agreement.
