You must use a language all players understand.

But your talking about doubles. so as long as all team mates understand there is no problem.

And there's a small checkbox that makes it so what you post in the gamechat can only be seen by you and your teammates.

What about in singles games? The rules say that secret alliances are not allowed and any alliance that is formed must be announced in the game chat. I was in a game once where two players were chatting in French. I have no idea what they were saying. For all I know they were forming an alliance and I did not know it. Is this allowed?

Ehh, before you do that - I'd be sure you weren't chatting in English first. Perhaps they thought you were talking about an alliance and they couldn't understand you?
....
Don't be so ridiculous to report someone for speaking in a foreign language.

There is actually a precedent where players tried to get around the no secret alliance rule by declaring it in some other language (I think danish) and that isn't allowed.

If it looks like an alliance, and there's no declaration you can understand, deal with it the same way you would any secret alliance.
