I don't know about one being in the works… I know there was a surrender button before, but that was abused…

not quite a surrender, but when hopelessly surrounded, you can make futile attacks against larger armies to spread yourself thin for easy take-over by your opponents.

Just play to win, damnit! Suiciding and surrendering is for wimps and losers.

Well the advise everyone else will give you is to just push on and try to win the game. Obviously this cannot always be done. If you need to drop - and you are clearly going to lose the game anyway (or you don't care if you do lose) then you could either hole up somewhere and wait to be eliminated or you could suicide. Be careful though because that can result in negative feedback i think. It shouldn't but it does.
I think a surrender buton should be brought in because there are instances when surrending would be a good thing. I played an RT once in which someone had to leave. They took the suicide option to allow the game to comtinue. The guy didn't, but could have suicided on one particular person bringing them down as well which is unfair. A surrender button would resolve this easily.

Surrender button will not be coming back. A Vacation button is in the works. I guess you could also use this as a defacto surrender button.

What if you are positive that you will lose and you arent premium and want to join another game that might actually be fun to play?

Just attack as much as you can, so you only have 1's everywhere and repeat that untill you are eliminated (or do start your next turns, but don't deploy and let your time run out). That should not take long before you are eliminated.

how bout in situations where EVERYONE BUT YOU LEAVES. two 6player games sitting on my active list, and I have no way of getting rid of them. and because I'm not premium, I can't just play a game or two more without worry. If the same thing happens again, I won't be able to play for a month (rather depressing)

Thank you for such a revealing comment on your character.

Or you can man up and drop a twenty to get premium.

That's what I did! I got sick of waiting to play, and haunting my computer waiting for a turn. I felt like a junkie.
And then last night I thought, screw this, this guy wrote a killer program that's gonna be THAT MUCH fun (until it gets too big for itself, probably within the next 6 months) I can at least toss him HALF THE PRICE OF PIZZA (I live in Vancouver...pizza is expensive). I didn't even do that for Itsyourturn yet!
I feel so CLEAN! I can't wait for my nifty new gold insignia...

But I did want to ask:
What exactly was the problem with the surrender button? I searched and I just saw that "It was abused".
How was it abused? It seems you could control whatever abuse went on by modifying the penalty for surrendering...say 100 pts?

Mostly it revolved around promoting poor sportsmanship.

In 1 v 1 suiciding is not a problem. I'm all for it, especially by those that I'm playing against.
The problem is when people just give up in multi-player games when they see their position is hopeless. This usually screws over the game for someone else who has worked hard to get into position only to be screwed by the suicider.
