I am sure this subject has already been brought up, but I was just wondering if it is possible, or will be possible in the future, to change usernames.

Yes, but this way we don't have people changing their names 5 times a day. Some people might have a bad reputation on their name, change it, get another bad rep, change it again, ect. ect. Making him pay money to change his name might make him change his mind about being a jerk in-game or on forums.

Yes, but this way we don't have people changing their names 5 times a day. Some people might have a bad reputation on their name, change it, get another bad rep, change it again, ect. ect. Making him pay money to change his name might make him change his mind about being a jerk in-game or on forums.

well, couldnt a limit be set on how often you can change it, such as once a month, and in each persons profile, you can see their previous names so you know who they were, that way they can keep their bad/good reputation and nobody has to pay a fee

I dont believe that the majority of good people (with good reputation if that means anything) should have to suffer paying a fee to make an adjustment to their name (or change it completetly) Just to stop the minority of people who will change their name 5 times a day.

I agree, there are ways to keep people with bad reps from changing there name too often... like having all the previous ones listed, or imposing a limit on many times a name can be changed. that way people who just had a typo won't suffer.

BTW: if we can change our names, then can I condense mine to just Zaphod? in the game my name is too long and I can't see my rank...

The fee is a must!

You should just pick a good one from the start, then its a non-issue.

Fact is as long as you pick a name that you should be happy with then it shouldn't be a problem.

well, where can we change it, and how much will it cost?

It's not available yet, but I'm sure it will included in an Announcement thread when it is available.

yeah that would be fair - like you could have say, 1 free name change per month. then have to pay for additional changes.
