"God, I'm playing with a *mumblemumble*"

Okay, so this is my first post to the forum, and i haven't had a chance to read all the topics so I don't know if this has been around before, but why not, time for another go if so.

Have you ever played a multi-player game and watched your teammate make the most imbecilic opening move that could possibly be imagined in the circumstances? I just have, so I'm going to rant about it here, and I invite you all to share your own anecdotes of moronic starts. Not going to name any names or flame any flames, but keeereist was this annoying to watch:

So, the setting: Just started a new triples game, classic, freestyle, escalating, and the concerned territories were south america, which were owned as

Peru + Venezuela - Pink
Brazil - Yellow (TEAMMATE)
Argentina - Teal (TEAMMATE)

So, pink's interesting, and most frustrating opening move, before anyone else could play, was deploy into peru, and then lose 5 armies NOT taking Argentina, as well as costing teal 1 army there in the process.

NICE ONE DORKBURGER! WAY TO KEEP UP THE TEAM SPIRIT.

Please, to assuage my grief and frustration, post your own stories of the same ilk. Maybe there'll be a worse example that will pacify me.

He probably shouldn't, he'd get flamed instead.

I specifically made it non-targeted-flamey, just generalised. I don't want a flame war, I'm interested to hear stories. That'd be general discussion, neh?

once in a doubles game i was happy me and my team mate had a lucky drop and i proposed a plan of attack. his first move was to put all his troops on my border and attack me. he continued to do so until he got eliminated by the other team. needless to say i lost that game, and added him on the ignore list.

I once had a brilliant starting position with my partner on King of the Mountains. I had most of the red mountain, and my partner had most of the mountain to the left (don't remember the color). We should have been able to hold the two mountains from with 5 strong points by round 3. I set my partner up so he could take his mountain on his first turn or come pretty close. I thought we were on the same page from the chat, but then he deployed to a completely different location and ignored the huge force I built for him.

my best worst story was great

partner didnt fortify one army to me the entire game...when i had 3 or 4 left i told him he had to fortify me or kill me and take my cards...he said: " im not going to kill you or fortify you...i have big plans for you in europe" i had 4 armies

Im pretty sure he threw the game on purpose, but if he didnt, he was the worst player i have seen in here to date.

easy to fix - just play singles like real players :-) *enters bunker in prearation for flaming from all those dubs/trips players with insanely high scores/ win ratios*

I don't play dubs or trips with anyone other than players I already know and trust. And if I'm the one to go first I never take my turn without discussing strats with my teamies first.

Tieryn, it sounds like your guy just had a case of unlucky dice...game number?

O and recently I had a 4 player doubles on classic and my teammate started nearly having aussie and SA (something like 3 on one and 2 on the other). I forted him well and he could have easily taken both. He decides to attack the other team instead of me to take the continents. First I did a psyduck. Then I slapped my head. Then I asked him if he'd ever played doubles before and if he knew he could attack me. I ended up cleaning up after him and taking SA and NA but at that point I couldn't keep up with the other team. O well....ya win some....ya lose some...and some you get stuck with a special olympics reject.

game # 166738

team 2 has 2 players and team 1 is down to 1 player with just a few troops left. player on team 2 cashes a big set and attacks his partner because he forgot who was on his team! The game chat after that is just hilarious.

Saying you forgot whose team you were on is the biggest load of bs excuse that I have ever heard, all you have to do is look to the right of the map and see who you are grouped with :S...reading the game chat I think it was entirely intentional! What a wanker!
